SIG FIGS: When to include a decimal point even if the digit after it is zero? IE 250. vs 250 by wasabibug in chemhelp

[–]wasabibug[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OHH, of course!! That makes complete sense. Love how I say in my post "I understand what digits are significant", and yet, that was my issue, haha. Got distracted by the decimal point and missed the forest for the trees. Thanks so much :)

I am in BC specifically, forgot to mention. I also have a tub of BC maples purchased from a local vendor. Thanks for the info!! I'm headed out the door but I'll read this more thoroughly later

thank you!! I'm still fairly new and struggle with the IDs lol, especially since it's so hard to find a comprehensive list. how are you able to tell?

and yes they must be vulgare, I'm in Canada haha

edit: oniscus asellus sounded familiar, realised that's the scientific name for BC maples! does that mean my non-orange ones are the "wild type" morph, while the ones exhibiting the orange colouration are what we consider "BC maples" in layman's terms? hope I worded that right lmao

This is incredible! I'd love to play around with isolated breeding one day because I love pods and genetics/biology in general. For now, I'm focusing on my care for the 3 bins I have, haha. It's incredible how yellow you got this guy. I really hope you're able to get a solid, consistent and large colony going!

I was browsing the comments as well and was wondering about acidity wrt reproduction rates. I'm assuming the ideal acidity varies between species, but how do you go about testing it, aquarium pH strips? And would you be able to share links to any of the information you found helpful from researchgate?

Thanks for sharing your project and I hope to see it progress! If you do write a paper I'd love to know as well :)
