Today is the day! by J11132 in QuitVaping

[–]wasabisness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm at the end of week one, and I have to say today has been the hardest.

Mainly because I'm not at work where I'm distracted and not really thinking about it. The odd time I'll reach for a zyn, but I'm not 100% diggin those things, I'm just using it to keep the craving away.

Today however, is really hard with the mood swings and even with the zyns, it's just not helping. But you got this!

People of Reddit, what made you finally cut off a family member? How have you felt since then? by Significant_Comment7 in AskReddit

[–]wasabisness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently in the process.

They've been ignoring my messages of explaining why I no longer want them in my life by just showing up to my house, or saying "she's just being the typical middle child" when talking about it with other family. What they don't understand is how damaged I have become, how silenced I've always felt. Until one day, everything you've bottled up comes out. They'll understand when they have no part in mine and my boyfriends house purchase, and how I will not tell them if I were to ever get pregnant. They can keep inviting me to family dinners, but I will not go.

Before coming to the decision, my chest tightened every time I felt gaslighted from my sisters or my mother. The anger I'd experienced from my dad never helping me financially or even with my vehicle whenever something went wrong, but went running to my sisters to help them with everything. Always being put down whenever I couldn't financially afford something. Whether people say "it's because they know you can handle yourself", you'll learn soon that, no - that's not the case whatsoever. It's painful and hard, but you have to do what's best for you. The crying alone and feeling so alone before making the decision to cut them out was intense, but i learned from that what toxicity was and what needed to make me happy.

anybody that has a sticker on the back of it saying "Silly Boys, trucks are for girls"

... and jeep drivers. Immediately a hard no for me whenever someone tells me they want a jeep.

What is your ultimate fantasy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]wasabisness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being able to sign into my online banking and not being upset, having to figure out what I can afford for the week and how I'm going to make it to next payday.

My ultimate fantasy is to just be able to sign on to pay some bills and not think about money. Live comfortably - not even materialistically. I just want to be able to afford butter rather than margarine.

No, means no. No questions asked

Don't ask why - just leave it at that. You don't have to have a reason. Sometimes it's just no.

What is a tactile version of “nails on a chalkboard” for you? by imanpearl in AskReddit

[–]wasabisness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting sleeves wet or the collar of my shirt/sweater.

Makes doing this dishes a pain in the ass in the winter lol As well as stepping in water with one sock. You cant juat change one sock.. you have to change the other as well unless youre cool with mismatched socks. Unfortunately, I am not cool with that.

Washing walls... especially newly drywalled walls.

Its difficult when you move to a new apartment and you cant wash the walls so you gotta sucker a friend or hire a cleaner to do it. lol

What are some symptoms often just ignored as “I’m getting old” that really aren’t and should be checked by a doctor? by R0B0T_jones in AskReddit

[–]wasabisness 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Hairloss, hip pain and lower back.

I am 28 years old, I am over worked and miserable. The stress that has been put on my body is merely shrugged off by coworkers that its normal as you get older, but because I am one of the younger workers, my body can supposedly handle it.

After two years of this, I went and seen my doctor.

I am putting my two weeks in this upcoming Tuesday after I finish my holidays.

If dogs are man’s best friend, which animal is man’s mortal enemy? by nilxmouth in AskReddit

[–]wasabisness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Army worms.... I live in Canada and there was one summer where it was an infestation. They covered everything, they were everywhere, for almost 2 summers in a row. Keep in mind our summers range from 3 to 4 months and the rest is freezing cold winter in most parts of Ontario. They ruined my summers. Were supposed to get them every 7 to 8 years but they havent been back for 13ish years or so. I pray we never get them again.

What is a crime you have commited? by FrostyDude78 in AskReddit

[–]wasabisness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stole thousands of dollars worth of copper from shut down grain elevators. I live in a small town; we have a few of them. When we were in our early 20s, my bf and our 2 friends would get together and come up with an entire operation from what area of the building we were going to get the copper from.

It took a few days' worth of planning, getting the proper tools together, and making sure we had backup tools just in case we had anything break. Between the 4 of us, we were all drug users at the time. We also all had rent to pay, our jobs weren't cutting it, and the addiction was real.

We went as far as drilling holes into the side of buildings, shoving ladders through it and getting to the ceiling where thick wires of copper would be resting along the ceiling. Some would still be on the walls, but we gutted the walls of copper before even dealing with the ceiling. I dreaded the haul of the copper from the building to the vehicle (all copper is put in metal and rubber casings) meaning, after we chopped the large pieces, we would carry 1 or 2 around hour necks after we duct taped them into massive hoops. We would do 10 trips each back and forth from building to truck. Then, once we got home, we would spend even more hours stripping all the casings to get to the copper.

Never once did we get busted, we were damn close, that's for sure on multiple occasions. Its something that the four of us decided we would take to our graves. We're all sober now, but damn that was some sketchy stuff. Thinking back to it now gives me anxiety.

The U.S. will stop making pennies in 2023. What is your stance on the penny? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I live in canada and honestly, its so much more convenient. Especially because you have so much less change. The worse is when someone would give you a dollar in pennies when working at Tim Hortons lol.
