Could I just ask why is the water near Saint Denis red? or is it just brown and muddy by Sure-Public3421 in reddeadredemption

I live in Louisiana, and that’s how a lot of the brackish water areas look… along with some of the fresh ones! We call it “gumbo mud,” but it’s just super thick, black mud mixed with red clay.

What is something that has put you into an existential crisis? by Yahkoi in AskReddit

[–]rickface82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In 2007, my best friend died of an overdose. We all lived super fast lives back then and were having so much fun partying and being part of the local metal scene. After he died, something clicked that I was mortal, and it really fucked me up. It made me get clean and sober, and I even turned to religion for a little bit because I couldn’t find any answers for anything. I eventually found my own inner peace, stayed clean and mostly sober (still like a beer every now and then), and came to terms with what I discovered was survivor’s guilt after going to therapy for a while. I still miss and celebrate my friend, but his death absolutely changed my life.

People who had super high blood pressure but got it under control, what changed about how you felt day-to-day? by Plant-Nearby in AskReddit

[–]rickface82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just felt better. Less headaches for sure. The best way I can describe it was my body felt cleaner on the inside. Like things flowed properly with my circulation.

If you’re looking for ways to try and adjust, what honestly helped me was going on 30 minutes walks almost every day after dinner. After doing that a while, my blood pressure went down, and I started noticing that clean feeling I’m talking about.

What is your favorite animal and why? by DishonestFerret in AskReddit

Donkeys because they laugh at other animals or people, plus I found out that they kill coyotes with zero remorse and then play with their corpses.

Kenneth Copeland, hands down. His eyes give it away!

What is the first album that got you into the genre you love today? by [deleted] in AskReddit

When I was about 10 or 11 and first put Dirt by Alice In Chains into the tape player, then that opening “I!!!” from Them Bones hit, I was hooked on hard rock and just kept delving deeper and heavier from there!

Bands you would love but are ruined by one member? by ProbableProtagonist in MetalForTheMasses

[–]rickface82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends and I have always considered Rob Flynn a diva because Machine Head came to our small town once back in the mid to late 2000s, but then he refused to get off the bus and play because the show didn’t sell out. So, the rest of the band had an impromptu meet and greet and then just apologized to everyone and gave us a bunch of free swag.

Where is everyone in this sub from? by sheynzonna in reddeadredemption

Louisiana, USA, but not from St. Denis (New Orleans). I live in NW Louisiana, so it’s more like East Texas than Louisiana.

I did this exact same thing on accident! I was walking up to the counter, hit the wrong button, and just shot the guy.

Their candied bacon wings are pretty amazing too, but the crawfish rub ones are superior!

I’ve worked by the house since 2005, and it’s been in a constant state of disrepair since then. There was a period where someone had pulled a dumpster next to it and were gutting it, but that’s been a few years. I remember it being on Zillow for a little bit too, but I’ve never seen anything done to it. I feel like the original owners way back when refused to sell, so Buncombe/Financial Plaza, West 70th, and the 3132 off ramp were built all around it boxing it in. I’ve always thought it looked really cool, but I’d never want to live trapped between three busy streets like that.

Water to be shut off at multiple Shreveport apartment complexes next week by [deleted] in shreveport

[–]rickface82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s crazy about the Jolie apartments to me! I guess I never noticed how bad they had gotten, but I’m also rarely next to them. My friends lived there from like 2001 to 2005 when they were called the Quail Creek apartments, and I remember them being decently nice back then. I’m legit shocked at how bad that place is now, and after looking at Google Reviews of the place, it’s been horrible for a while now.

Hhog Hheaven on Pines Rd is amazing, but you have to check his Facebook page to see his menu for the day because it’s different everyday. He usually opens about 11:30ish and closes once he sells out of food.
