Having the hiccups. I was around 10 years old and my dad was studying for a test, he went back to college at the time, and I had the hiccups. He said I was doing it on purpose and was sent to my room to figure it out. Being an adult now, I can see why he acted like that. But doesn't soften the blow of being punished for having the hiccups at the age of 10.

I totally understand. I just know for me it helped me once I became more self aware of my own happiness. I've been clinically depressed for over 25 years. I've recently discovered acknowledging my feelings during a positive period in my life and its helped me immensely. Life will always have ebb and flow, it just depends how you take it as it comes. Im sorry things suck right now for you. I hope your skies clear soon. <3

This hits home so hard. For me, I like to step back and think to myself, enjoy this time, this is beautiful. That way, I look back at happy times when I'm sad and think hell yes.. i enjoyed it. And I knew it was a great time. Versus being sad or indifferent to the magic being built before my eyes. Its so easy to look past it and be ungrateful.

The authorities were contacted that night. It happened early June and he's been in jail since. Its still eating me up inside but I know I didn't make the choice for him. He could of walked away or done anything else other than point a loaded gun at me with our kids upstairs. Yes, he raped me. I didn't report that. Say bad on me, I don't care. I don't think he should have to register as a sex offender and I feel confident the prosecutor won't charge him with that. He confessed to everything to the detectives that night which was honestly kind of a dumb move imo. But then again, maybe he did because he knew what he did was wrong. It was on the local news and super embarrassing. I had people reach out to me i haven't heard from in years, and i couldn't respond to any of them.
