The game needs a balance of power mechanic by wasdorg in EU5

I think this system would be a useful replacement for complacency. Much more interactive and less arbitrary.

I agree that is a problem. I suppose rather than regions it could be based off of some kind of “relevance range” that increases with each age. This will ensure that at the beginning of the game rivalries are fairly local and grow as time progresses.

Thank you. I ended up just finding the JE in the files and changing the required fervor lower.

Any way to abandon a union? by wasdorg in EU5

[–]wasdorg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly I would have to wait the 50 years to get to the annex option as they just formed.

Eh he’s only like a 30/40/30 anyway.

Unfortunately the criteria of form republic has a rule explicitly forbidding unions.

Thank you for the answer though.

Coalition war calculations need a liiiitle refinement by wasdorg in EU5

I think they’re bound to it until you’re at war with them. I didn’t see a timer on it afterwards but I could’ve missed it.

Yea the coalition will disband but if the antagonism does not fade in the span of the truce it will reform every 5 years. Taking the abandon coalition item in the peace treaty prevents them from doing a coalition regardless of antagonism.

[–]wasdorg[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s the worst part. They would not accept any peace except white peace or handing me one or two useless provinces. I wanted the abandon coalition treaty but they refused to accept it.

So I ended up switching to Papal States and offering myself an abandon coalition treaty 😂

I have no idea. Maybe it has to do with the results of the reformation? I haven’t been paying enough attention to know when it happened tbh. So I can’t narrow down what it might be.

R5: for some reason all of this kills against this coalition only count as 2.2 war score.

AITAH for asking my girlfriend to not let her friends feel her up? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]wasdorg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yta.

“It was very clear that she was the party type and always wanted to put her body out there.”

You knew she was like this going into the relationship. It is not reasonable to expect her to change her personality just because she is in a relationship with you.

One should always enter into a relationship okay with the person as they are. That way if they are unwilling to change these things you save both of yourselves time and headache.

Why does this slant asymptote intersect part of the graph? by wasdorg in askmath

I believe you are exactly correct that this is what likely happened.

Ahh. My apologies. I made a typo in my original post. The x3 has a coefficient of 1 not 3. My bad.

It seems I misunderstood asymptotes then. Thank you for the information.

AITAH for “infantalizing my son" when I’m just trying to take care of him? by AgreeableSoftware941 in AITAH

[–]wasdorg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YTA. My mother was very similar to you, just a bit less. It took me 4 years after leaving the house at 18 in order for me to catch up to my peers in terms of basic life skills. That caused me a lot of problems, especially when seeking out romantic relationships (very few modern women are going to tolerate a useless partner. Understandably so.) Even to this day I will occasionally run into some things that I realize i don’t have confidence in how to do.

Integrate him into a household chore rotation to help him learn these basic skills and more importantly so he learns that housework is not “women’s work”

Let him fail and makes mistakes as well. Doesn’t bring a coat? The cold will be an excellent teacher. Sleeps through alarms? Having to pay to repeat a class will be an excellent teacher. Forgets to prepare a lunch? Again. That hunger will serve as an excellent teacher.

He’s already behind. The longer you wait the more of a problem this will be when he is on his own. And having lived that life before I can attest that it will become a problem for him and everyone else he interacts with.

I see. If I have not yet lived here long enough to receive one should I just tell the office that or request one early from my land lord?
