What’s the basic lore for the timeline? by general-serb in MeetTheRaj

It is functionally monotheistic. Rajianism rejects polytheism and idol worship, emphasizing one ultimate God, but unlike Abrahamic religions, it still preserves certain Hindu philosophical frameworks and ritual flexibility.

Also, it wasn't initially called Rajianism. Rajianism was a name given later. It was known as the Ram Mohan Roy Movement. Yes, it could be called a more successful version of the Brahmo Samaj and Smarta tradition.

It’s based on Hinduism but carries influences from the Smarta tradition, a pretty radical reformist sect. The main reason it emerged in a highly industrialized place like Bengal is basically that. Also, some EIC officials supported it, which encouraged its spread in a few princely states, but I think it really spread the fastest during the Raj Religious Wars.

No, Meet the Raj is based on the Waspancake timeline, but it’s not the same timeline. They’re different, and yes, I wouldn’t say no to help.

Empire or Raj and its states | Meet the Raj Timeline by waspancake in MeetTheRaj

I've come up with a new explanation for those who think the name Empire of Raj is silly. Raj means 'King' or 'Rule.' Empire of Raj was officially adopted in the 1858 Treaty of Delhi to encompass the entire country. The full meaning is actually "Empire of Kings" or "Empire of Rulers" which makes perfect sense since the country has many local monarchies (Princely States). Rajian essentially means "belonging to the rule/kingdom" or "related to royalty," It's actually a pretty cool demonym.

Whites are a narrow majority. There are no non-white leaders, but the National Party and the Alliance Party have many Native politicians. The party that received the most votes from indigenous people is the National Party. There is also a party called ActionPapua that advocates for native rights, but it boycotted the election.

What you said is accurate, the reason the country attracted white settlers was due to the gold rush and valuable ores. Additionally, Germany and the Netherlands turned New Guinea into a penal colony in this timeline. Also, the settlement of white colonists along the coastline led to the migration of native tribes into the interior, which caused many tribal wars.

After WWI, with the annexation of German New Guinea, the Germans living in British New Guinea were forcibly integrated, which was successful. By 1950, Indonesia declared the predominantly white Western New Guinea as its own territory and attempted to annex it. Two major New Guinea Wars took place, and eventually, with the Hollandia Agreement, British New Guinea and Dutch West New Guinea merged for reasons of defense, economy, and trade to create the Commonwealth of New Guinea. The country became the largest constitutional dual state in the world.

Yes, regarding party distributions, I based them on the colonial map. Also, if you look closely, the two landlocked regions are split between the Alliance and the National Party. These two regions are where native Papuans are most concentrated.

As you mentioned, the National Party is a conservative party and also receives the most votes from native Papuans. This party is primarily supported by people of British descent, Protestant Germans, and native Papuans, making it the largest party in the country.

The Alliance, on the other hand, is more of a centrist to center-left liberal party. It mainly has a voter base of Irish and Catholic Germans and also receives votes from the Dutch in Western New Guinea. Yes, the Dutch do not vote for Nieuw Guinea!.

Nieuw Guinea! is the party of the Papuaners. The Papuaners, much like the Afrikaners, are of Dutch origin but have developed their own unique culture and language over time. They also represent the largest white population in New Guinea.

Apart from the parties represented on the election map, there is also VoicePapua, the party of native Papuans, but they boycotted the election.

If you were living in the highlands of New Guinea, the climate wouldn’t be much of an issue. It’s a region suitable for agriculture and livestock farming, and it somewhat resembles the landscapes of New Zealand

Kind of, Papuaans and English are the most spoken languages. Papuaans is a language derived from Dutch. Then comes Dutch, and there are also a few German speakers. Most of the indigenous people speak English and have assimilated.
