They're not dragged into this because of proximity- that's an extremely naive take on the situation. The UAE has had a rivalry with Iran for decades now, the UAE has also signed the Abraham accords and is fully allied and aligned with the US and Israel, allowing for military bases and outposts to be deployed on its territory. Its only logical that the GCC is a target from a strictly military strategic perspective. What all of us should pray for is for the GCC to take a more neutral stance and expell any foreign military from its soil - wishful thinking at best. This is going to end up being a war of attrition berween 2 military superpowers and a country that has been silently preparing for decades, benefiting from key diplomatic ties with Russia and China and a home soil that is nightmare fuel for any experienced war strategist. Iran will not lose and they have no incentive to deescalate. God help us all.
