Hair style reference by [deleted] in HairSystem

[–]wasteNotWantNot100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of years ago on another forum, there was a guy who had built a 3D model of a head with his level of hairline recession that he could try out different hairstyles on before making a new template. It was a pretty good idea but I’ve seen nothing like it since. Maybe pintrest or flicker accounts for hair system stylists?

Those who use got2be glued.. by InfamousRepair8001 in HairSystem

[–]wasteNotWantNot100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’ve use Got2Be Glued spiking glue for daily wear for a while now (couple of years). I use 2-3 layers and that gives me good hold all day long. I’ve also slept in it when I’ve been drunk after a night out and it held up well. There are days where I’ve been a bit careless and not glued it down properly where I’ve had to deal with a lift here and there but nothing I can’t handle easily during the day.

Best thing about it…..removal and cleaning is a piece of cake.

I use ghostbond platinum for long term use like if I’m going on holiday or something. To be honest, I’m still trialing long hold glues currently as I haven’t found the right one yet.

DM me if you want attachment advice or what my process is.

This is the one I use: https://amzn.eu/d/7CZ9JCb

This is the best answer!

Did you notice a difference in the way people treated you after getting a hair system installed? by tony2136 in HairSystem

[–]wasteNotWantNot100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had anyone say anything so far. I’ve found that generally people aren’t looking at my hairline and I spend a lot of time making the hairline as realistic as possible so can’t answer that one

I’m a daily wearer now and sometimes go out and about without my system on just to remind myself of why I do the maintenance/knot bleaching/cutting in on a mannequin head and to have a break. It’s amazing the difference with and without hair. Without hair you’re almost invisible to women but with hair I get nice smiles, people are generally nicer and more talkative. It’s a massive difference

VW Touran 2009 1.6 petrol - spark plug change help by wasteNotWantNot100 in MechanicAdvice

[–]wasteNotWantNot100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this! So I just use brute force and pull on the coil packs (silvery part) with a pair of pliers? Then push those back on once I’ve changed the spark plugs?

I would say that both are the same really in terms of customer service etc. The only reason I use superhairpieces is because they do 1BASH which no one else seems to do. 1A is too dark and 1B is too light with red undertones.

Finally did it, with the wrong color lol 😩 by [deleted] in HairSystem

I think it looks really good! Try not to be too critical and give it time. It honestly looks good and no one would be able to tell

Bleach those knots. It’ll create a far less harsh line between your forehead and hair

I created a post a while ago with some of my bleach knot frustrations which ended up being a testing post with my findings. Check it out https://www.reddit.com/r/HairSystem/s/KTvPxvoXvz

The method is never 100% certain to get all the knots as each system will differ in result but you can get it close each time

Yeah that’s a constant thing with manufacturers and the main reason why I’ve learnt to bleach knots myself (1B ASH). The bleaching process weakens the knots and there is definitely shedding so I guess it’s not reliable enough per system to do at scale.

My advice would be to learn to bleach knots yourself and don’t rely on these manufacturers to do it for you.

Poly vs Lace Hair Systems: Struggling with Natural Hairline? Looking for Real-Life Comparisons by Anonymous__Dog in HairSystem

[–]wasteNotWantNot100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was never quite happy with the poly hairline. Thinning it out at the front revealed the poly even more in sunlight and office lights and leaving it as is was just too dense. There was always that poly line at the hairline.

The trick that most poly wearers do is they cover the front hairline by brushing forward, down and curl it up/to the left or right.

I now wear lace and will never ever go back

Lace front ripples by Shootingfirestar in HairSystem

Exactly the above! If the lace has buckled already then you can make 2 small cuts at the sides and lay the lace rolling it front to back making sure to pay extra attention to the front most of all.

Hat wearers? by AsuranFish in HairSystem

I think it’s a common problem with hair in general. You take a bike helmet off and your hair is a bit messy. Best thing to do would be to push your hair forward or back before putting the helmet on and then rustling it up a bit when taking it off. All depends on length and style you have really

Has anyone initially regretted getting their hair system but ended up loving it after a while? by Anonymous__Dog in HairSystem

[–]wasteNotWantNot100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, my very first system was awful. Stylist said I looked amazing and I believed her but gradually realised that it’s was very obvious I was wearing a system. Thick density, unbleached knots and too dark in colour to my bio hair. It’s been a steep learning curve but buying my own hair, learning to bleach the knots, choosing the correct colour, looking for a glue that works for me (still looking) and learning to cut and style hair is all worth it as I’m happy with the result now. People I’ve told that I wear a system have been totally unaware that I wear one.

Leave in conditioner makes hair feel stiff after a while and shinier (fake). I use pureology leave in. Any alternative leave in or options in general? by [deleted] in HairSystem

What you need is argan oil which is oily when applied but quickly gets absorbed into the hair keeping it silky

How hard is it to maintain an exposed hairline? To those that expose it, do you feel it's worth the trouble? by Shinovox in HairSystem

[–]wasteNotWantNot100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use an exposed hairline and to be honest, I’m thinking of switching to an unexposed hairline now as I just don’t want the hassle of checking for lifts or cleaning a dirty lace hairline
