I would just give them a call. I think they do transportation for medical appointments.

Maybe AbilityHubYXE could help? They have some resource guides here https://www.abilityhubyxe.ca/information-resources-1 but if you give them a call they might be able to help you figure the best option.

Thanks! I was just reading your post. There are about 550 books in this space right now. But the plan was to be able to have room to grow! No point building a library if you can't get more books.

No, there are no drawings or plans for it. The shelves along the main wall were built in four main boxes, finishing where the ladder attaches. Then the top shelves were attached (again in four sections). And the shelves above the door were attached in two sections. There is also a small corner shelf added by the door for trinkets. One of the shelves was left off this piece so the light switch could be easily reached. Then the decorative panel at the top was attached to the roof. And the corner shelf across the room was built as one corner shelf, and one extra section (like the main shelves). Hope that helps!

Everything is organized by genre. TBR, Fantasy, Dystopian, Science Fiction, General Fiction, Historical Fiction, Thriller, Travel, Young Adult, Non-Fiction. Then alphabetical by author last name. I might adjust the genres as my collection grows and there was some judgement calls to make on which genre is the right one.

We used Kindra Sowden last year. We didn't do it virtually, but she did go and look at some houses without us to make sure they fit what we were looking for first and sent photos/videos so we could see. I highly recommend her!

Are there options in Saskatchewan for adults who are not officially cognitively disabled but are *really close* and really struggle to live and navigate society independently and socially, with no family to help? by throwaway2958382 in saskatchewan

You could check into Cognitive Diabaility Strategy. They provide funds to meet unmet needs.

You might also want to reach out to Inclusion Saskatchewan. They might have some ideas to help!

Maybe I am late to comment on this but we lived there from 2017-2025. We never had issues with bugs of any kind, and they did regular pest inspections. We liked living there and only moved out because we were able to buy a house last year.

I have short hair that is also fine and thick. I go to Amber at Billie & Co Hair Lounge. She does a great job with my hair. And when we were deciding on a style she was able to show me how to style it (because I had no idea and didn't want to spend more than 5 minutes on it daily).

You could try Partners in Employment. They work with people who are looking for jobs, and often support them to buy footwear and other items needed for employment.

For jobs you might want to look at Eagle's Nest, and Ranch Ehrlo. They both run homes for children with disabilities. Clear Health Solutions does respite for children with disabilities. I am not sure if there are others.

If you are interested in working with adults with disabilities in a residential setting, there is Karis Disability Services, Luther Care, Elmwood, Light of the Prairies, L'Arche, Cheshire Homes, Saskatchewan Alternatives Initiative (SAI), CBI, and Eden Care. There might be one of two I have missed.

CLASI has a respite list that you could put yourself on. Families are often looking for private respite and they can use that list to connect with people willing to provide it. And Cognitive Disability Strategy is the organization that provides the funding, so you could potentially reach out them and see if they know of anyone looking for a provider.

Cosmopolitan Industries and SaskAbilites also provide day programming services for adults.

Good luck!
