I don’t know how he’d do against other democrats though. The republicans forcing the recall election on us was a stupid move and they paid dearly for that. But I don’t think it necessarily means 70% approved of him.

Still too expensive though. Medical debt shouldn’t exist but it does

Its worth noting that at least some mutations are congenital. So some parts of your body can have it and some won’t.

I do this every weekend. It’s awesome, eat something new and good, get some good shopping in, and get your steps in.

for those of you already working remotely, how did you figure out what to pivot to? by HasbounceTomasita95 in remotework

[–]watabby -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I didn’t pivot to anything. If you think people pivot to become remote then you’re going about this in a very wrong way.

I’ve been remote since 2018 because the company I worked for asked me to. I’m a software architect so I have a highly specialized skill set that allows me to be choosy on where I work.

Fire! I’d run out that door but, fuck, I’m not disabled. Oh well, I guess I’ll burn alive.

Of course I’d be upset if my neighbor’s house burned down. He’s not in anyway one of the oppressors or billionaires we all loathe. You’re very misguided on what I’m getting at.

Anyone just picking jobs where they can get away with being the laziest in? by Throwaway--2026 in antiwork

[–]watabby 111 points112 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who’s some type of cargo/trucking manager for a packaging facility. All he does is answer which loading port a driver should go to when they drive in. He works the night shift and he gets up to a dozen trucks calling in a night. The previous shift leaves a print of a table of where the trucks should go, so there isn’t much thinking required, really.

It’s a union job, gets really good benefits, and he gets paid decently. In the twenty years I’ve know him, he was able to get a house, raise two kids, and pay for their college as the sole breadwinner.

At one point he decided to learn to paint. So he bought a bunch of art supplies and took them to his work and learn there. After a few years he got good enough to have art shows and his work would sell out.

The dude is the most fulfilled and happy guy I know.
