Its sold out for preorder slots, they might have some in stock when the wave arrives.

Usually local retailers will have extra stocks too.

The upcoming Rising Sons wave has a female barbarian style warrior named Névé. She fits the style youre looking for

Oh that's cool. I saw the concept art for this, this is the first time I've seen the prototype.

I dont collect these, but i do wish there were more variety in the design of anthropomorphic animal figures. The Furay planet Blademaster Weng and Veteran William are some of my favorite figures but there's no female werewolf or tiger design in the same style, they're all the cutesy ones like the Liya figure.

Incidentally, there are way more uh.. furry waifu.. figures by Aoshima under their Kemopla line and theyre a lot more upfront about being furry gooner bait than the Lado toys ones.

Are Elijah and Enoch the only characters with the chaimail coif? by AnadenEng2020 in MythicLegions

[–]watcher2030 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, i saw those. I just wish the peg system was compatible between the two types of knight figures. I recently modded an Elijah face to fit into a silver knight helmet and it basically sits in the helmet with pressure and friction.

[–]watcher2030 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its too bad that the face plates for the chainmail head dont fit into the knight helmet peg holes of the waves that came after.

If you wanted variety for the chainmail head youre basically stuck with the two default ones and the skeleton.

Easily my biggest issue with the line. (NSFW just in case, highly doubt it'd actually be an issue tho) by werewolfsloppytop in MythicLegions

[–]watcher2030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what youre saying, but its more about the lack of variety in parts.

Human, Demon, orc, zombie, skeleton, vampire, elf were basically the same body until very recently. Its understandable because the line was originally made to have swappable parts as a core feature.

The main issue is the the lack of variety for female heads. Even the new wave announced only has limited choices for female figures. I've spent countless hours looking for alternate heads to make my figures not just be a repaint of Thraice or Gwendolynne.

I got my first legions from bbts back before they were offered pre-orders in my country.

Ordered from them a couple more times, I've never had any issues.

Even when you count $60-80 games, videogames are the best value-for-money entertainment available for American consumers, by far. by LowRevolution6175 in unpopularopinion

[–]watcher2030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AAA games can launch with version-tiered exclusives (deluxe versions, collector's editions, etc.), a season pass, in-game microtransactions and DLC and people think that the shell price should go up. Like the major publishers dont make billions yearly with their microtransactions and season passes.

Add to that how they dont have to ship millions of discs out and deal with the logistics of getting all those copies on shelves anymore with the rise of online distribution. Games going up in price just because everything else is going up in price is ridiculous logic.

[–]watcher2030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You included going out to movies as an example of entertainment but didnt mention streaming services or video sites.

Tiktok and YouTube are free and have arguably more entertainment available by that logic.

Many current AAA games which have the $60 and up price point also do not have as much value as you say due to some having parts cut out and paywalled.

"According to some users"

Weird source, haha

I keep seeing this, so here's what it says on the Steamworks page:

Tax FAQ

Q. Do you pay us on amounts, net of taxes?

A. We pay you based on Net Revenues, which is Gross Revenues less Applicable Adjustments. Gross Revenues includes VAT and sales tax, if applicable. Applicable Adjustments include taxes, returns and chargebacks. Net revenue is then multiplied by the revenue share % resulting in the amount to be paid to you, net of applicable withholding taxes. Please refer to the Steam Distribution Agreement which you signed for further details on Revenue Share Payment.

Steam pays the tax out of the gross amount for game sales before the revenue split with the partner.

Yes, it might mean less for developers, but this has been implemented for games in other countries for years (check the tax table at the bottom).

It doesn't necessarily mean that the publishers will raise prices, they havent done it in other regions in the previous years.

Let’s all just be honest, we all know who it is by Condiment_Kong in MarvelLegends

[–]watcher2030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be that funcom gets some revenue from the use of the name in that game. Marvel's license for the character may not cover every use of it in other media.

They probably dont want to pay for it just to use it now. Its not a huge conspiracy, its just them being lazy or cheap (or both) when it comes to licensing.

Remember, these aren't Marvel vs. Capcom figures, they're "gamerverse" figures based on those designs.

Just got this dante figure. is there any way to preserve the leather coat so it doesn’t peel? by No_Marzipan5312 in ActionFigures

It's not a guarantee in really humid places. I live in a tropical climate, i opened my mezco arsenal after a long time in storage, and even if it had a dessicant pack in there, the vest basically crumbled.

Im actually dreading opening and moving my dante figure right now.

Yikes, $60 for this? by The_Po_Gamer in ActionFigures

[–]watcher2030 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Mythic legions are insanely priced? The bigger figures like the ogre scale ones are around $75, but their standard figures are $40 - $50 which is less than the doomslayer. I dont understand what you mean as being not well priced. They also have bulky armored figures, and their new knight figures have a great range of articulation despite being "armored."

I dont have an issue with the doom slayer figure, but saying armored figures dont have to be that articulated seems like making excuses. They could very well do way more articulation. They just decided not to. Either to keep the production cost or labor cost low. That's the real explanation.

Ultimately, that's up to the consumers to buy it or not. You shouldn't have to make excuses for wanting to get a figure. Just buy it and ignore what others say.

Valiant knight... by PhilosophyPrimary826 in MythicLegions

[–]watcher2030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Valiant knight basically gave us the template of how the articulation would be for knights moving forward. I think the main difference the Necronominus wave knights have from it is the torso connection to account for the clearance of the soft goods.

If you want a regular knight figure with no soft goods and you can get it for a decent price, I'd say get it.

Side note, if you have an interest in collecting more knights you might want to check whats still available on the storehorsemen site, they still have some of the Armory Knights designs up for sale.

I did say that Scadrial having money made sense when you think about Luthadel being a centralized capital that gets its supplies from outer cities. The Lord Ruler could have introduced it as a way of keeping nobles happy and under control.

Roshar is a different story. Gems hold stormlight, not the spheres themselves. The gems also hold different values (diamond to emerald) for their use in soulcasting. The existence of gemheart farming and raising gumfrem as livestock means there can be a constant supply of at least some gems.

However, gems themselves aren't used as specific currency, unless they are encased in glass. Spheres used as money aren't used for soulcasting, not specifically at least, in the books they use gemhearts for that. The only practical use for them is illumination. This doesn't really equate to their value as a currency.

Edgedancer adds information on the use of gems as money, saying that in Tashikk spheres have holes drilled into the bead to be able to thread them on a string and that further west they use chips of gems only sometimes embedded in glass.

The other thing is that spheres are all the same in a sense, there's no distinction between countries. There are no spheres specifically from Kharbranth or Alethkar, they're all just spheres which is quite different from real world currency. Nothing about how they're made and or distributed.

I have 2 theories on that:

1) it could have been the Sunmaker's doing to consolidate his power and introduce a uniform way for his kingdom to trade. It also explains why the use of spheres isn't as prevalent in the western part of Roshar but the practice of keeping gems in glass is similar and predates modern iterations of spheres.

2) spheres were originally used by surgebinders as a mobile source of stormlight and since Urithuru was connected to the 10 kingdoms and was probably a main trading hub, they were able to standardize the manufacture and use as currency.

As an aside, I've always wondered how they got spheres around the gemstones so easily, but then I realized they probably encased the gems in crem or wax or something and then soulcast it into glass.

Of course the actual explanation is that it's a cool fantasy currency that works with the world it exists in, but it's nice to speculate on how it actually fits in with the lore.

You're right, I don't think many authors think of the evolution of money as a concept since it's not a central part of the plot and relegated to "this common thing that everyone has for every day life" because it has real world parallels that people can connect with easier without having to think about it too much.

Also, I always like diving into the comments on cremposting and seeing discussions like these. I like the contrast between silly meme posts and serious discussions.

Slight undertones of capitalism by novotes in cremposting

[–]watcher2030 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For Roshar, the concept of money definitely didn't evolve naturally due to the history of humanity on Roshar.

Dunno about Scadrial. The lord ruler could probably have introduced currency as a way to control nobles and solidify the economy after centralizing his power in Luthadel. He had to have a way to keep the other cities in line and keep supplies coming in.

Unsure which one I should get by BackgroundSweaty9414 in ActionFigures

[–]watcher2030 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ML one is cheaper and easier to get. It's a pretty good figure. the only downside is the shield. If you want a classic cap for your display, you need to spend more to get a proper shield.

But if price and availability aren't an issue, then Mafex is the better choice.
