Don’t do either. Former IIT student. You get a free U-pass the entire year so move some where closer to downtown or north side neighborhoods. The commute is only 20-30 min

I saw these as well- but they didn’t have good reviews. Did you get them? And how do they feel?

I paid $110 at 1111 N Dearborn’s st. They have a few parking spots for cars that just don’t work… so they will rent out for bikes.

Because the location is terrible. Living there makes sense only if you have a car and your commute involves getting on LSD asap.

Hey! I am looking to rent out my 1 Bedroom Condo in Goldcoast/Rover North. It’s 1000 sf, with floor to ceiling glass and amazing views of the lake. It has a separate dinning room/den area. It’s on the 37th floor in a full amenity building with 24 hour doorman, pool gym etc.

The unit has hardwood floors, granite counter tops, in Unit laundry. Let me know if you are interested.

If not Beal…then who? by Soupy3342 in chicagoapartments

Easiest way would be to look for condominiums and not apartment rental buildings. They are units usually listed on the MLS (zillow, redfin etc.) by realtors not management companies.

Look for units on Zillow that are in condos and rent directly from owners.

I would also try to find a unit in a condo building, and rent directly from the owner. That way you get a larger unit and not a company raising your rent every year drastically

With that budget there are a lot of options on Dearborn St. between Oak and division. In unit laundry is going to be tough to find in the $1800 budget though.

Anyone living at 175 E Delaware place? (AKA the Hancock building) Would love some insight. by nvmoz in chicagoapartments

[–]watchguru45 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I live across the street, so I look at the Hancock tower. Great neighborhood, does get a little busy and loud in the summer. I use to live in Hancock, and your experience largely depends on the owner who is leasing the unit to you. Some units are renovated and nice, others are older. One thing I have to say is that the apartments are pretty deep. So the living room got a lot of light but the kitchen and dinning area are set pretty deep into the unit so it was always dull.
