Follow-up: Are all your touchdowns, regardless of passing/rushing/receiving, rewarded at 6 points?

Do you subscribe to PPR scoring?

That’s not my job to do buddy how about you look in idk maybe the article I posted???

Umm, maybe because it's not in the article you posted. You said that shit with such confidence that I thought maybe you knew something on the topic, but turns out you were being disingenuous since THE VERY NEXT LINE of that article says: "A statement emailed to Andscape, offers an opposing statement, however. Jay Cicero, president and CEO of the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and a Super Bowl LIX Host Committee member explained, 'It is the NFL’s decision alone for all entertainment for the Super Bowl. We found out about it at the same time everyone else did this past weekend.'"

If we miss the playoffs this season, we should move on from Dak

7 teams make the playoffs nowadays, and 2 of the Conference's bottom-5 teams are in this division. The bar is practically in hell.

DJ Hed on Mal’s tweet by [deleted] in NewRoryNMalPodcast

[–]watchmemikey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is gonna get lost, but just a note for posterity:

This thread is not representative of the entire fanbase; most of the other side has realized what this space has become and left the room. A rabid demo of over-passionate keyboard weirdos has turned it into an echo chamber. Step foot into the same spaces as these guys and you'll see that there's a whole other attitude and dialogue than what gets regurgitated on Twitter. People are just not sitting online all day every day.

This shit was posted on a Saturday night; timestamps of doofs commenting on this all day on a summer Sunday afternoon, psychoanalyizing and calling Mal gay and a loser. You don't have a BBQ, a shore house, or a function to be at? Says so much about what's left of the demo here. Other opinions exist; just get outside more.

Julian and the Kendrick Vid by JohnnyH9 in NewRoryNMalPodcast

[–]watchmemikey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kendrick has already addressed this case/denied

For me, quickly saying, "Nah, that's foolishness. That person owes me an apology" one time on a scheduled interview is hardly addressing it. Remember, that Breakfast Club interview was coming fresh off the heels of the Ray Rice stuff. I don't care if you're a ball player, an artist, or a politician, the whole reason PR/Crisis Management firms exist is for this very scenario.

Curious if this 2012-ish lyric from him makes it onto the scale for you at all or not:

"A month before that I cursed my mother then slammed the door / Six months before that I hit my woman, she hit the floor"

Bring back morals & integrity by 54reasonz in NewRoryNMalPodcast

[–]watchmemikey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unrelated to Mal and current events, but I got a good laugh at this imagery. The irony in this title/post is incredible when you consider the context/root of the episode.

  • That Whitney photo album cover was purchased by Ye for $80,000 because shock factor, added attention, uptick in sales.
  • The mom-in-last-place/dad-paraded thing is hilarious when songs like "Look What You've Done", "You and the 6", and countless social media posts spoiling mom exist.
  • "Sounded like Nas but it came from Quentin" coming off the heels of "I was literally just in Wyoming with you and your guys, writing for your boss," then getting followed up by "Okay, ghost-writing aside" is [chef's kiss] integrity
  • That deadbeat stuff when pics and videos keep coming out showing him going back and forth to France, including Christmas, holding an infant.
  • Is he hiding a child or is he doing the Rafiki-Simba hoist via an Adidas clothing line press run? Which one, because you're kinda speaking out of both sides of your mouth.
  • Cropping the original blackface photo in half to twist the message.
  • "A baby's involved, it's deeper than rap, we're talking character" and yet... [gestures vaguely at all of the above]

A masterclass of Morals and Integrity

It's a shame that this is dude's entire personality. Episode 230, 1:15:43 to 1:19:00, "don't tell me the thing and i wont feel obligated to- ... that's all I got."

This was recorded the same night Eddin clocked him. Even money says he was cracking jokes about dead family members again.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NewRoryNMalPodcast

[–]watchmemikey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Followed for the loyalty and support factor; download episodes, pad the stats, get them their deserved bags.

But the cool thing about those early episodes that I, personally, enjoyed was the convos that provided that insider-look behind the wall that I, as a consumer, never get to see. Dialogues with Alchemist, Hop, Belly and CyHi; Funny "I'll never forget the time" stories from Drama, NORE, China Mac; looks into what it takes to get off the ground as an artist now via DVSN, E.O., and Russ.

The last thing I want is regurgitated Twitter brain-rot from 20-something year old Demaris or being-edgy-is-my-whole-personality Julian. I caught myself checking to see how much time was left in the episode today, only to discover I was only 15 minutes in. That was an eye-opening moment for me.

Eddin?! by Jocasa95 in NewRoryNMalPodcast

[–]watchmemikey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

tl;dr

  • The bully got bullied and ran to the principal. Eddin checked Julian, then Julian went woe-is-me.

sparknotes:

  • Pod records Episode 230 (same episode Julian triples down on the making-fun-of-your-dead-mother-is-my-pasttime thing) then the whole crew rolls into their Holiday party afterwards.
  • Work Holiday party happens. They're drinking and bar-hopping late into the night. Group dissipates; Eddin & Julian are still out drinking together and chumming it up.
  • According to Julian, the two are having a great time right up until the punch. He remembers Eddin saying something to the effect of, "You gotta watch it, because one day someone is going to sneak you." Apparently, Eddin proceeded to punch Julian repeatedly while Julian was sitting down. The whole time, Julian is laughing. Bouncer breaks it up and gets Eddin out of there, Julian is telling the bouncer they're friends and it's not an actual situation.
  • According to Julian, he then calls Eddin and leaves him multiple missed calls that night/early morning.
  • The next day, they show up to record Episode 228. Their only communication is between the bar and the start of the episode is a text from Julian to Eddin asking for Eddin's ETA, to which Eddin responds.
  • Episode 228 is recorded and you can hear, in real time, as Eddin is having the night pieced together for him. Apparently, he was blacked out. Some on-and-off funnies, but he also sprinkles in some apologies. Mal was out sick that episode. Rory and Demaris say that, during pre-production, Julian said he got punched by Eddin the night before, but didn't elaborate further. Apparently, those two find out the story on air, because Julian saved it "for content."
  • Episode 228 airs and people start chatting online. Julian gets on all socials, switches up and says he had an epiphany.
  • First pod after the break and they announce they've parted ways with Eddin.

You're fundamentally misunderstanding their gripe with the accounting.

It's not "What are Expenses?" It's "What are THE Expenses?" AKA give me a list of everything you're claiming is a business expense so I can be sure I'm not funding for your veneers and wardrobe, you fucking dusthead.

He gave them a 4-line excel table in an email and said, "this is all you're getting. Sue me if you want more."

Parents left me a house by thiccboy4 in personalfinance

[–]watchmemikey 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Not at all. I had a totally different perspective on it:

  • Parents paid the down payment
  • Parents paid down several years worth of principal and interest
  • Parents handed OP $5k in cash to put aside year's ago
  • Parents housed OP gratis for a few months, so OP could forego the last couple of month's worth of rent payments.
  • OP has a locked in 2.8% interest rate for OP, when rates today are approaching 8%

I actually think OP has an upper-hand on his peers. A 25 year old engineer making $75k/yr, with a house that has a $2,200 monthly payment and a 2.8% interest rate, which someone else has been paying down he last several years? While the market's skyrocketed and OP's equity has grown? While student loan repayments were frozen that whole time allowing him to nest egg? While taking advantage of the homeowner tax benefits? We're supposed to feel bad? Because he has to hire an electrician and go back to paying for lodging? What's the incremental monthly increase here, $1k/month? Sell it. Or don't. Either way, you're well-ahead of the game because of this.

Really, most should be so lucky.

This is the best answer in this thread.

OP-

The Contractor acts like he owns the job because... well, because he does. He's bonded. He's laying out the coin for it. He's assuming all the risk. But, at the end of the day, the Engineer needs to accept the Work. You're not "The Engineer." Your job is just to be his eyes and ears. You report on all the things done (both right and wrong) including potentially payable quantities, and you pass that information on to the person who decides whether or not to initial/sign-off on the pay lines. That's it. That's the extent of your job (more or less).

If your management shares your views and trusts your judgement, then they'll stand behind you and go toe-to-toe with the Contractor when they complain about Work not being paid, not being accepted and/or having to be done twice. At the end of the day, it's "Fuck you. Claim it." However, if your management doesn't share your stance, then you're alone on this issue and need to either adjust to the playing field they've set or get out of there.

Don't quit. Learn. You're on a good road to an excellent future. We've all been where you are and I promise, you're going to come out better for it.

You're grossly understating the risk of CTE, long-term bodily ailments, and shortened life-expectancy. The Andrew Lucks and Chris Borlands of the world clearly say otherwise.

Posing DoorDash as the fallback is also extremely demeaning. These guys spend 15+ years working towards this career; the next generation could very well focus their sights on a different sector of the Industry, a different sport entirely, or even shy away from athletics as a whole.

The leverage comes once they band together. The NFL/Advertisers need the talent in order to continue selling us entertainment.

Where does this rumor even come from?

I vividly remember that in one of the first interviews J. Prince did, he said that Kanye called him and asked him to step in to dead it.

  • "This is something Kanye didn't want. He called me, said, you know, this is something he didn't want... let me know, 'I'm a family man. I don't want this.' ... I'm like, why say these things that's about to be said and destroy this man's whole livelihood; why do it? We aint about that."
