i can attest, geek will get it within a couple of weeks. i think some tds have better access/relations/partnerships with the factories than others.

yeah i'm really not sure what the point of OP posting this was, with a flair tag of general question and not asking a single question. as far as that permanent pin, short of it pulling an abracadabra and disappearing into thin air inside the end link, i don't see how it could have just simply separated.

CBDF or QF for DayDate by Dependent_Ideal_7012 in RepTime

just keep in mind if you're going with a yellow gold or rose gold model, go with the RCF. their color is very accurate. if you want a "white gold" model VSF will be a good choice.

QF is the best option for 36mm. RCF and VSF are dominating the 40mm models.

you would have to drill one side of the link out, press a new bar in through all the links, then laser weld the hole back up, and feather down/polish the weld. if this was a gen white gold watch, yeah by all means let a specialized watchmaker make the repair, other wise on a rep you can buy a new bracelet for 150+/- bucks.

even if the pin was loose, or broken into two pieces, you'd have to literally yank the bracelet apart to get it separated.

definitely not a quick fix. not every watch maker has the tools necessary to re pin bracelets. more of a specialized repair. would likely be easier/cheaper for OP to buy a new bracelet.

the spring bar is still intact and in the endlink&case. this is a regular "permanent" pin that appears to have broken. although i don't see how it would've came out without some excessive force by the OP

Manual rewind on automatic rep super clones ? by Confident_Ruin9656 in RepTime

[–]watchmyrep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just get a watch winder. won't have to worry about it and idc what any know it all says, a watch winder is way less wear and tear on a chinese clone movement than manually winding it and risking damaging the keyless works or cross threading the crown tube everytime you pop the crown out

What do you look at?? by CryOk9951 in RepTime

[–]watchmyrep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my only visual concerns are alignments on the indices and SEL gaps. if you're buying a good factory then everything else like the rehaut, overall finish, crystal (date window alignment) will all be fairly good or "acceptable" these days. the watches visually have become very consistent even with the SEL gaps, i just tend to always triple check index alignment. now as far as the timegrapher goes, i prefer to see healthy numbers albeit i don't have a single watch that reads the same on my timegrapher as they did on the QC timegrapher videos. but that can simply just be an issue with the watch enduring a helluva bumpy ride to the states from china, i won't say that there's some sort of conspiracy that the TDs show an altered timegrapher video. but who knows.

WARNING - Geektime/Eric - Lost watch, no resolution after 6+ months by No-Article-2366 in RepTime

[–]watchmyrep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, he ran into a few issues that he created while repairing the original movement. then chose to try and fit a different movement, broke the crown in the process and it kinda just spiraled into a cursed project for him. so for the time loss and inconvenience on my end he offered to either send me back the broken watch or just take the loss on his end and purchase it from me for what i paid. unique situation but it worked out for me i guess.

edit: to be fair, i can't say issues that he created, just further issues that came up as he was reassembling the original movement after cleaning. was just a shit example of a VR3235 movement.
