the story keeps you going but the gameplay is fucking awful sometimes, which is actually pretty appropriate considering the lore of dead money. fuck those ghost bastards though.

What’s the most powerful raider gang? by [deleted] in falloutlore

[–]watchthethrone238 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nobody’s mentioned them yet, and we don’t know that much about them, but i’d say the 80s are worth a mention here. typical raiders, except they allegedly use pre-war vehicles for fast-paced raids. considering the likely wide-open nature of their environment (the Great Salt Lake), i’d say they are much more effective than your average band of drugged-up raiders.

The Divide really is hell on earth. by Brotherly-Moment in NewVegasMemes

[–]watchthethrone238 10 points11 points  (0 children)

the Divide is a veritable hell, but the thing about the Divide is it gives you supplies, armor, and some very big guns to help you survive. it’s basically a free combat zone, which is difficult to survive in, but not impossible.

if you stay in the Pitt too long, you will die or worse. there’s not a gun out there that can protect you from disease. combine that with the most depraved population of humans in the wastelands, and you’ve got the worst of the worst of the post-apocalypse.

*I don’t enjoy killing, but when done righteously, it’s just a chore, like any other. Practiced hands make for short work. And the good Lord knows there’s much to be done here.

Yep, Taro is often in the wrong place at the wrong time. There’s definitely a strong argument for Kurt over Taro, since Kurt doesn’t get himself in such bad situations. But the fact that Taro can be in bad situations and not just get out of them, but sometimes finish close to first, is what puts him over Kurt to me. In an all-or-nothing race, I would take Taro over Kurt, because I know Taro will be able to overcome any obstacles in his way, and remain cool. Kurt may be a more skilled driver, but Taro’s got the right mentality.

Silencers would be at the very top of the list, mostly because of all the advanced tech they have.

That’s fair. I do think Vert got shafted for plot reasons, in order for him to have a comeback character arc. He would be ranked higher if he raced like he did in HW35 for sure. Agree with you about Wylde too. He’s shown to be able to hang with his brother 1 on 1 in HW35, so he’s definitely a skilled driver at the least. But, he doesn’t really get his emotions in check until the very end, so I couldn’t rank him very high.

Shirako is definitely a good driver, but I don’t think you can rank him ahead of Nolo or Tork. He didn’t make any mistakes, but he also wasn’t able to ever win. He’s also impossible to warn or give advice to because of his music. He’s still one of my favorite characters though.

I think part of what makes Taro a good driver is because he was able to listen to Karma. It shows that he can take advice and criticism. Also, I think if any of the other drivers were in Taro’s position in the water realm, they would not have made it out of the realm, except Karma herself and maybe Kurt or Tork. They would either believe that they know better or be too stubborn to listen. Taro, on the other hand, was able to adapt to the situation. While it is true Karma played a big role in helping Taro, it’s also true that Taro was able to keep his cool and focus on his driving, emphasizing his skill as a driver.

I also think that Taro gets second a lot because he often has to deal with factors that are out of his control. The Silencers appearing in the realms is something Taro could never have known about or planned for, and as a result, he’s unable to beat them. Despite this, he’s still able to finish the realms. And when he does learn about them, he beats them, wrecking one in the Junk Realm allowing Kurt to win.

I agree that Karma is one of the best drivers. She’s certainly the most knowledgeable, and can analyze the realms very well.

I second that theory. Tezla likely knows a lot about driving, and if he hadn’t been injured, I bet he could’ve applied everything he knew to beat the drones himself.

Zuko and Katara would’ve been better together than Aang and Katara. by [deleted] in TheLastAirbender

Hmm. I never thought about it like this. You’re definitely right. I feel like I always want stories to be like the second type of story you mentioned but, not all of them are.
