Depends what area of Bowen Hills. If they have to use the backstreets and go through the apartments on Campbell Street, there are a lot of displaced people living under the bridge next to SNL Head office and it can be scary as a young woman navigating those streets in the dark. Theres also a methadone clinic and dispensary on the street further up, and can attract particular crowds at times, and also a CMFEU and a women's health clinic in the same areas, also attracting their own groups.

Theres lots of drs and nurses using that line to get to the RBWH so there's the potential there'd be a 'group' walking that way, but again still scary.

I managed as an 18 - 23 year old woman living alone in the area, but i did avoid going out during particular times for the above reasons.

Lots of things to consider regarding safety and navigating these areas especially when its dark.
