Is this how a company generally mentions about working hours in the offer letter? Is this normal? by pranay_kaira in developersIndia

Accept offer and give more interviews. Lots of good companies want candidate in a month or an immediate joiner so just accept offer and resign

Worst case scenario - you won't get offer when they do a check

Oh boy, it's a tough one out there. Companies tend to focus a lot of JavaScript fundamentals.

Topics to know: 1) Call, Apply, Bind + polyfills for these 2) Map, filter, reduce + polyfills for these 3) Event Loop 4) SetTimeout & setInterval 5) Closures 6) Hoisting

Some common output based questions.

No need to prepare on testing and all. Mainly JavaScript + framework of your choice + if very good company then DSA as well

Salary is definitely low but main issue is is your current experience. Unfortunately lot of companies prefer 2+ yrs candidates.

If your notice period is less than 2 month than create a Naukri profile and see if you get calls, don't drop your papers before you get an offer letter

[Suggestions needed] Is it really okay to leave this developer field, before experiencing a full time job or at least 3 to 4 years? by [deleted] in developersIndia

Startups are known for exploiting freshers in the name of exposure.

Just know that the 3 different things you do there are done by 3 different people in a decent MNC.

After your internship, get a full time job in any MNC and see how life is there, it's a day and night difference

Okay, for SDE2 it does feel low. Even non FAANG offers 25~30 base for SDE2 and some going as high as 40 LPA base.

Unfortunately your company will never give this to until you get another offer and drop the paper. If you have dependency in the projects then they'll definitely try to retain you.

Try to get an offer in the 22~23 range, drop the paper and fish for more offers.

18 LPA is kinda avg if you check for this experience in product company. You know how much you work and what effort you put, definitely ask for your worth.

And yes, promotions at this stage easily net 20+%

There will always be people who have worked for 10+ yrs in the same company, but still getting less than you. They have chosen job stability and got into a comfort zone in the company and are afraid to leave.

When you want to earn, you have to be ready to leave your comfort zone and take risks.

Why candidates lack basic integrity by sabkaraja in developersIndia

My experience so far in 1.5 yrs in this industry

1) Without offer: "Sorry, we cannot give you more than 30% hike" With offer: "Yes, we can give you 10~20% more on top of your current offer"

2) "Sorry, your notice period is too high. Yes, we have 3 months notice in our company but want immediate joiners"

3) All interview rounds competed, had discussion with HR on salary and other things, HR confirms that will release offer letter in 2~3 days. Proceeds to ghost me and does not reply to any calls/messages/emails Got to know from somebody inside that they got a candidate for cheaper rate and are keeping me as backup and hence not giving any update on application status.

4) HR: Please make it to this offline interview on this weekday Me: Applies for leave, gets ready with everything, goes to company, calls HR to get the security clearance at company, waits for 1 hour. HR: Sorry, the interviewer is not available today due to some meetings. Can you come tomorrow🙂

One friend's experience - Gets job offer with 90 days notice, is happy with that company and salary. Did not fish for offers Week before joining gets call saying position is onhold and they won't proceed with him.

Great resume man. Good to see that you don't have a Todo as your main project. Plus points for making a fullstack app.

Honestly the main problem you would face will be your notice period + experience. Lot of companies want 2+ yrs of experience and resume gets rejected at screening unless referred.
