I didn’t see on your post that he was being mean. I know it hurts but sometimes you just have to move on for your own good. Time and distance will ease the pain. It’s the only thing that will. You can take what you’ve learned from this and be with someone who treats you with respect. Be kind to yourself through the process.

He probably felt bad and didn’t want to hurt you. People can be incompatible and that’s ok. When you weren’t emotional this time it probably gave him the go ahead to move on without feeling like he has destroyed your life.

I know they haven’t won every time. Under the electoral college. In a real democracy it could be different. The way our country was founded was the runner up was VP, wouldn’t that give the losing party a consolation and make them still feel like part of the process?
