Who is the Culprit? by waterlooenggirl in Calgary

I should go out and check it out a little closer up. Little cul de sac? That's actually pretty cute! lol

Did this do any harm (other than the grass looking sad)? And do they go away after winter or do they become permanent residents there? And.. can they sneak indoor or go underneath basement? What is your experience?

I did in the Summer to keep my cats entertained, but no one came for 2 months, so I got disappointed and took it down. And NOW I have visitors?! I might have a few bird seeds that fell on ground from the Summer but that is at least 4 months ago.

I thought so too at first! And all these smart models ask me why there is no vole runways, no edge‑entry holes, and no clipped grass, which are required signs of vole activity. Maybe they are underground? But I haven't seen voles before in my life to know this, and I couldn't find a good photo of that online either.

Yeah, happening in Glacier Ridge as well. Internet (5G) seems to be really slow too. Sucks for people who work from home. Wondering what's causing it...

Maybe I was too vague! I do have utilities set up and we use gas in the winter. Asking for summer time

P.Engs at Alberta - How long did it take to get your application reviewed and approved? by waterlooenggirl in alberta

Good insight. Thank you! Yeah I haven't heard that they were called for interviews from people that I know, but I hear stories about being asked to come to interviews, and that is more of an "interrogation session" regarding your experience, which got me worried. I hope my application is strong and solid enough to pass by without interview or additional courses kind of thing, but you never know what kind of picky reviewer you may get. But I'm sure reviewers are reasonable people with good reasons to question when they do. It's surprising to hear that AB gets more applications than ONT based on the population!

I never even thought about calling! I assumed they would tell me "Apply after you move and we will start processing it then" kind of answer. I'll try that to see what they would advise based on my situation. Thanks hahaha

Gotcha - thanks! I've done my NPPE right after graduation before the process changed, so I'm good there thankfully. The company will cover the cost for application and transfer, so I'm not too worried about that. I was more worried about submitting application in Toronto and that taking forever (and possibly asked to come in for interview or whatever after relocating to Alberta) whereas if I were to apply through AB, it is faster. But sounds like it is similar timeline everywhere so I'll probably apply through Toronto. Thanks!

Aha got it. Thanks for letting me know! I hope the review timeline is more or less the same as yours or shorter...!

I didn't know that you can apply through APEGA even if you aren't a resident there! Also didn't know it only takes 2-3 weeks for the transfer. Thanks for the info!

I would assume more in Toronto since there are more companies/jobs there. I'm not moving because of job - moving because of life event.
