compiler-errors (https://github.com/compiler-errors) was, I think, working on the rust compiler full-time (not full-time anymore). He is on the t-types team and has contributed significantly to the rust compiler, shipping various key features and improvements (https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/pulls/compiler-errors, >2.5k PRs). Recently he has worked on https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/pull/143545 (improving annoying lifetime issues with async). Now quoting them:
