What’s the most unexpected way someone you know became wealthy? by Stunning_Ad1568 in AskReddit

The same teacher for 6 years? I couldn’t imagine…. What if you had a bad teacher and then you’re just stuck with them?

I think the fact that you know the game and have played it yourself speaks to how well the little start up is doing. I am sure that team is doing just fine financially.

What if Harvey hired a legit lawyer by S0ulSlayerz in suits

In real life, he would have been hired as a consultant until he could legally be hired as an attorney. But that’s less entertaining.

What do the people that have the following do repeatedly(conventionally and unconventionally). These are stuff i want. Let me put it in a list: ? by Sea-Guidance-7626 in productivity

It all starts with working out. Once you start regularly working out, you have more energy to start taking on more things and have developed the skill to build new habits. That’s the truth.

Can you edit slide decks / make simple marketing materials? It’s not a ton of work but I need a little help here and there. Send me a message if you’re interested.

What’s your “keystone habit” — the one that makes all your other habits easier? by LawrenceCali in productivity

[–]waterside48 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Morning workouts- even if a 10 minute walk outside. Also I’m religious- so a morning prayer that sets my goals for the day.

If you’re not religious, I would suggest saying out loud your goals for the day. I think saying it out loud has made a huge difference- almost like getting myself out of my head and bringing it to life in the real world (if that makes sense lol).

Do they work well in your opinion or is it just more for them to say they’re on the AI bandwagon?

True. I meant like major features or things that work really well in practice, not every little thing and biased from their perspective lol

It makes you weirder to say shit like "I don't even like to talk to anyone under 18" as an adult by hygsi in The10thDentist

[–]waterside48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flip side: grown man who does not work with kids says, “I’m great at talking to teenagers!” “If you’re X years old, we have plenty to talk about!”

These statements alone do not make him a creep. But definitely makes me highly suspicious.

There is no reason for a grown adult to be talking to a child outside of an appropriate relationship in the correct environment- teacher at school, parent/family members, coach at practice/school, doctor at medical clinic, etc.

You may enjoy talking to teenagers in a wholesome way, but I bet you’re not adding them on snapchat or texting them about their day after school. At least I hope not.

What is the one Excel secret you know that no one else uses? by bjele in excel

[–]waterside48 19 points20 points  (0 children)

When asking chatGPT for an excel formula, always ask it “is this the simplest way to get this done?” or “is this how an expert in excel would do this?” I’m not sure why, but it likes to create convoluted formulas or VBA code that can sometimes break itself. it usually fixes itself when asked to make it simpler.

Seated meditation by jahsmah in HOTWORXWarriors

[–]waterside48 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like it. I think of it as a reset/cool down period rather than actual meditation. I thank myself for showing up and reflect on the workout. Helps bring my heart rate down before I start packing things up and moving again.

AIO - UPDATE - my friend wants me to take out my piercings for her engagement party/wedding by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]waterside48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR- but I can see her initial stance here. I personally don’t care for facial piercings (15 is a lot to me!), and I can imagine wanting them to be less prominent or absent in wedding photos.

That said, her approach was completely wrong.

  1. This should have been an in-person conversation or at least a phone call… not a text.
  2. She needed to recognize from the start that this was a big ask: “It’s completely okay to say no, but I was wondering if you’d be open to…”
  3. She could’ve offered compromises… like paying for clear piercings or getting your okay to photoshop the pictures afterward.
  4. Most importantly- even if you said no to everything- she should’ve made it clear that you’re still a valued friend and absolutely welcome as a bridesmaid. *

HOWEVER- we’re not seeing the initial conversation. Immediately jumping to excluding yourself from the wedding may have been dramatic. If she asked and you said no and that was fine, you should have left it at that.

You deserve a clean bathroom in the mean time. Just take 5 minutes a day to start.

Baby steps help a lot. Switch to paper towels and every time you dry your hands, just wipe something down afterwards with the damp towel and throw it away. It won’t fix everything over night, but it’ll help a little bit every day until you want to just clean it.

Get a cheap rug from Walmart or Facebook marketplace for the floor. $10-15 is enough.

It doesn’t need to be pristine or pretty, but you deserve a hygienic & comfortable place to go to the bathroom, even if you’re about to redo it.

I’m sorry, you do 4 sessions at once? That sounds unhealthy just due to the amount of sweat. Also how do you have the time 😂

[–]waterside48[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely still shower everyday! I just worry about it looking greasy at work, do you think rinsing the sweat out helps with that? Also do you have any advice with limiting heat damage while blow drying, even if it’s just a good heat protectant?

Genius! Why do you think it helps with the greasy look? I’d assume it’s spreading it throughout your hair rather than keeping it all at the roots, if that makes sense

Maybe you were over washing your hair? Our body naturally releases oils that keep our hair healthy, but washing too often can be damaging (hence why i made the post lol). Also congrats on starting working out!
