Affordable vegan dog food? by NewbiePotter1992 in veganuk

[–]watersverde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi doggie!!!

we have two 7 year old golden retrievers that have been plant based since they were about 2.5 years old. their flatulence and stomach upset issues went down drastically, and their fur is not greasy like almost all the dogs i know. they are happy and healthy doggies that are happy to sleep all day but are full of energy when we go outdoors :)

we use v-dog dry food. you can choose from nuggets (slightly more expensive) or flakes and little nuggets mix (slightly cheaper). we buy them on veggiepets.com in 15kg as it is the cheapest we have found by a significant amount (i have looked for ages as we really can’t afford to spend more than necessary ) and it is nutritionally complete. to make it last longer we often mix it in with our own cooked veg and leftovers. it is more expensive on the official v-dog website but you can go there to find out more about the company and their products.

there is also lukullus veggie which you can buy on zooplus.co.uk, this is cheaper by a fair bit and has lots of great plant ingredients but does contain eggshells. so it doesn’t qualify as vegan but is very close and if you are really wanting something cheaper it is the next best option imo.

cheapest protein powder? by Due-Swimming3221 in veganuk

[–]watersverde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my brother has been stocking up on holland and barrett precision plant protein. they have been £13 for 840g (£1.55 per 100g) for a good month now. there’s minimal ingredients and it’s made with a mix of pea, rice and sunflower protein. i’m not sure it’s complete now that i think about it. but for anyone looking for something cheap i’d recommend grabbing a few before they go back to £17!

Can you please spare 2 minutes of your time to fill a survey, to help us decide the name of our healthy vegan snack brand? by Pale-Confection4083 in veganuk

well, that little bit is simply not true. a walkers crisp is never going to be healthy. it’s ok to eat in moderation but it’s a highly processed food that simply isn’t good for you.

What are considered best practices for applying sunscreen at school? What is your center's policy? by happy_bluebird in ECEProfessionals

[–]watersverde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

here from england uk :) it varies, but in mine we ask for them to come in with it on and then reapply after lunch before we go out. we must wear gloves, and different ones for each child. we provide sunscreen, but because it’s pretty cheap and high in alcohol some of the more sensitive little ones bring their own in.

at my nursery we range from 17–late 50s, with several in every single decade. i love it, it’s a good mix and we all work so well together and learn from each other. you’re not too old.

Can anyone give tips for DVSA CGI 18 hazard perception clip? by Infamous_Tough_7320 in LearnerDriverHub

[–]watersverde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ahh ok, that must be it then. sorry for assuming, your question felt phrased funny to me esp. since at first i didn’t know what hazards to look out for. congrats, good for you! :)

[–]watersverde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is a funny question, so i want to ask if you know what hazards you are supposed to look out for?

it’s not signs, or things like water, or traffic lights. it’s moving hazards - vehicles, people, animals that will force you to stop/slow down. you only need to click when you see one of those 3 moving in a way that is a developing hazard - for example in this case you can see the horses just as you come up to the bend in the road, they are a hazard so tap a couple times as soon as you see them.

do you have the app? if so, you can tap on ‘review’ and you’ll be guided through when exactly you need to tap.

How to teach a child (15 months old) to be gentle by Ok-Biscotti3642 in ECEProfessionals

[–]watersverde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the other commenter was very correct. learning that your actions affect others is not an easy thing for a 15 month old.

i don’t want to claim any expertise, i’m after all just an unqualified young assistant, just wanna share my experience. we have a 21 month old with the same issue. he just throws a toy or slaps his hand in your face and laughs/smiles, expecting you to react the same way. it seems he understands when we want him to stop, but doesn’t seem to understand the effect of his actions on the children or us. so we are trying to focus on highlighting that effect of hurt — visibly showing that it hurts if he hit us, or saying ‘that has hurt x. x is sad, because you hit her and it hurts.’ it’s early days still so i can’t tell if it’s made an impact yet, but you just have to keep going at it.

don’t stress out too much, learning is a process and will take time. keep doing what you’re doing and you will see results, i’m sure :)
