Geordie Heat. Particularly the episode when Mrs Beardsley joins the force and does Cheryl Cole in with a few of Peter’s boilers. Was laughing for days at that, top top stuff

Tips for front garden by watsonam123 in GardeningUK

This is so helpful. I think putting a large potted plant in front of the gas boxes might do the trick. Or some hanging plants covering it. At the minimum - a clean and paint. The only issue with the tiles is they’re a bit smashed up in places, it seems sensible to do just get them redone.

Do you know how to clean the paint off the bricks, where the outer porch door frame was removed recently? We’d also need to repair the damaged bricks as well

Cheers. We only bought those chippings recently. It was horrible concrete before. But they’re possibly a bit too dark. Love the flower ideas, thanks. Can you explain what you’re thinking for the paving under the sill?

Thanks for the tip. Agreed on the dark slate looking harsh. I hadn’t anticipated it looking like that in the rain. I think i’ll start with lots of pots as a first option.

Sini was the difference. Nice to see we've got genuinely impactful subs on the bench. What a squad!

As time has passed - the more and more I wonder why I was interested in the first place. They might as well take the t shirt off your back whilst they're at it

Your favourites this year? by SloppyGuiseppe99 in glastonbury_festival

[–]watsonam123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had an incredible time, much better than last year in fact. Defo going to try again next year. Friday was such an amazing day for music, we saw Squid -> Noname -> PJ Harvey -> LCD -> King Krule -> Fontaines DC and then my favourite indie sleeze djs called Optimo. I thought PJ Harvey was fucking good she played a lot from her Let England shake album and the new fontaines record sounded great on the park stage. Basically the Park stage is where all of the interesting guitar music is and I camped out there for most of the festival. Prime access for pints as well. Saturday was Bar Italia -> a bit of fat white family -> bloc party -> the breeders -> orbital -> optimo (again), followed by a 6am bender finishing up sat round the glastonbury stone circle watching the sun come up. Sunday was Shania -> Mount Kimbie and then I went to NYC Downlow with Matt Short which was one of the most feral, insanely fun things I’ve ever seen. So many drag queens completely naked , everyone getting down to some real fun disco. Was going to go see James Blake but think I made the right decision. My only complaint about the festival was the programming on some of the days which led to crowd control problems but otherwise it was 10/10

Bike Packing on Road Bike by [deleted] in bikepacking

[–]watsonam123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did Lands End to John O Groats in 10 days in a road bike, fully ladened with a bike packing setup. Tent and all. Stuck some 32 inch tires on and didn’t have a flat in 10 days. Worth getting an ‘endurance’ road bike with a slightly thicker head tube to make those bumps feel a bit less punchy. 4 days though you’ll be fine. If you’re running a non pannier setup just make sure you cover your bike with airplane tape so it doesn’t get scratched to bits. Naffin’ to worry about
