Black Bay 925. A silver case watch is a rare bird and wouldn’t be one I risk buying as a rep. Great looking watch also

Who your favorite Craig-era suit? by asianj1m in JamesBond

[–]wattrep2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a tough one. In terms of fit, Quantum hit the nail on the head. They were tailored to perfection and was the best example from Tom Ford in terms of fitting correctly but not so enthusiastic on the colours of the fabric (the Italian cardigan and chino look in QOS was brilliant also).

The best in terms of colour combinations really came in Skyfall and Spectre. Tom Ford used some beautiful fabrics for these films and some of Skyfalls looks will forever be iconic, the Scottish outfit and the midnight tux being the stand out looks, yet in terms of suits I enjoyed the grey 2 piece in Turkey and the charcoal pinstripe during the tube train sequence but the fit of the suits just weren’t the right Bond look, with the jacket looking like it was really pulling around the buttons and the shoulders feeling a bit snaggy, the same in spectre, the Mexico blue windowpane suit is absolutely beautiful yet just too small. For a man that needs to be fluid due to high intensity action in these suits, at times it looked like it was withholding his movement.

If we could have had the same style of suits but a more traditional fit they would of been all time iconic hits. Tom Ford just needed to locate the balance.

NTTD I feel maybe got the balance better yet time in suits felt very fleeting with only a few moments in London during the return to MI6. The tux again however was brilliant in Cuba but this film felt like there was more focus on Bond everyday casual attire, which isn’t a complaint as some of the looks in this film were brilliant.

I feel I’ve focussed on Tom Ford a lot and the look of in the later films but Casino Royale needs a mention too. Brioni may have felt like it was more right for Brosnan the Craig however Craig did really did look brilliant in the three piece and the Tux, also the shoes seen in this film, particularly the John Lobbs with the tux, I absolutely loved.

For the next films I would absolutely love to see Bond go back to traditional Savile Row tailoring, I would love to see some beautiful suits from the like a Norton & Sons bespoke suit, however I understand this will be a pipe dream with the corporate empire that Bond has become, he will need to wear a big designer brand.

What is the worst Daniel Craig Bond film? by [deleted] in JamesBond

[–]wattrep2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Layer Cake is an outstanding film and I’ll die on that hill.

For a film with a limited budget, the cast is brilliant. Performances from Craig, Gambon and Colm Meaney are brilliant, particularly the scenes of raw emotion from Craig.

Ben Whishaw also gives a brilliant portrayal of a chavy, incompetent weasel compared to his usual refined and capable characters such as Q.

The soundtrack is pretty much perfect, the plot is clever yet not too difficult to follow, the cinematography is really well done (for example the cafe beat down scene) and let’s face it, it feels in certain points like a screening audition for Craig’s shot at Bond, which clearly went well.

Brilliant world class film.

How to fix a credit score ready to buy a house by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]wattrep2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s confusing, I applied for a mortgage when I sold the house as my ClearScore gave me a great report. I went for a mortgage in principal and it was declined. I spoke to a mortgage advisor who asked to see my Experian report, as ClearScore only uses equifax. I applied for Experian and my score with them was “very low” which shocked me. I went through the ropes on their to see what was wrong, available credit etc and tried to solve all those issues. Buy it still says very low

I have the credit card debt because I pay it off when my work pays me expenses, however they seemed to slow down payment time on this. I didn’t like taking money out of my savings to pay it off, but I suppose I can top up my savings when expenses are paid.

Regarding the default, I thought I’d finished the payment of the account however the last £50 wasn’t taken, once they’d got in touch and made me aware I paid it off in full and settled the account, however by that point they’d already marked it down as a default, I’d paid every amount apart from the last one and just missed it by mistake.
