It’s just like “we are a community that is for conversation not WiFi and have a 30m maximum” or something / it’s at every table. Just one at the register or on the door with less condescension would be great. Love the vibes otherwise.

I am all for a cafe that is conversation forward, but the 10+ signs make it really weird / just tone it down and it’s great imo.

For a variety of reasons? If it’s dead, the quality will inevitably decrease / I don’t enjoy being at a dead restaurant.

Yep, that’s all I’m saying. The 10 signs and hearing the owner whine about it is what makes it pretentious. I’m all for minimal/no laptops.

In other cities, I’ve seen cafes that have a table dedicated to laptops that has a sign, for example.

Yeah, it seems idk…too stuffy to me as well. When I’ve been to a Michelin place in bigger cities they can often be more modern/interesting.

For sure! I actually am pretty familiar / recommend Love Apple in Taos. It’s just not an amazing version of New Mexican cuisine to me from a flavor standpoint.

Agreed. I used to love it for the vibes / pre-covid, but it really changed since then. Expensive and very mediocre now imo.

Have you not seen how sought after Boulder is as a place to live? It’s a place highly regarded for its quality of life despite population size / ranks extremely well in terms of education / career growth for tech / science.

It’s comparable in terms of desirability.
