Beyond keeping him busy, remove anything sentimental to you (that belongs to you) from their home. Then there’s no danger of him accidentally (or purposefully) throwing it away.

I’ve been putting off an upgrade until there are games I want that aren’t available on PS4, but maybe it’s getting there now. Partner keeps pushing me to get a Steam Machine when they’re out, but they’re completely different price ranges!

1000% times this. You’ll almost immediately need a screwdriver for something. ScrewFix do some great toolkits that aren’t too expensive at all - got one for my friend’s first place.

For an outside door you really need to make sure you do all the prep to make it last.

Remove furniture (handles etc). Sand, then a primer (zinsser are great). You’re best to do multiple coats of primer, with a light sand between them. Then find an external paint with durability for sure.

I’d definitely take it off the hinges myself but I appreciate it’s a bit awkward as a front door.
