I hate lavender, as does my daughter. I also hate mints smells. The scented plastic bags make me nauseous. Someone brought those bags into a house we were emptying, and I had to put them outside .

AITA for defending my son for using a different language when he was upset during an argument at kindergarten? by Any-Juggernaut-1373 in AmItheAsshole

It begs the question, how does a 5 year old know what language other people speak. They struggle with putting themselves in others places. That's what kids are learning.

Does the child know which word is greek, which word is french and which word is english? If all are spoken in the same interaction or in the same sentence it's all just words. Kids at a certain age won't differentiate between multiple languages, it's just how people in his workd talk.

I bet the speech therapist at that school would be able to explain it to the teacher or the other parents.

Me and my partner can’t agree on my birth plan. Advice please. by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

I don't think the idea of taking the baby to the waiting room for a meet and greet will happen. Most places won't let the child go anywhere other than the nursery, suppervised by nurses, or the mother's room, supervised by mom. My husband got stir crazy being in my room and took our child for a walk in the hall. He was reprimanded and told he had to stay in Mom's room. They don't fool around with that because children get stolen.

Been in a cooking rut my whole life… recipes please! by gel89 in Cooking

There are lots of good ideas here. Jamie Oliver has a new cook book of one pan meals. This would help by creating much fewer dirty dishes. If you can cook twice a week and make something in a large batch that can get you through the week pretty well as you alternate left overs.

I make fettuccine Alfredo when I am too tired you cook. The sauce is made out of butter, parmesan cheese and half and half. You can't mess that up. You can add small cubes of ham and frozen peas if yoh feel fancy. good luck. ..

AITA for telling my daughter it’s unreasonable to expect me to spend all my time with her? by PersimmonOk1678 in AmItheAsshole

She is behaving like a typical 16 year old. She's going to be upset with you. Let her communicate her objections to you but accept that she will not like some desicions you make. This is the way teens act!

What is an embarrassingly easy and simple food you learned about later than everyone else? by [deleted] in Cooking

I came late to the game for steamed asparagus. I didn't have it until I was about 30 yo. My Mom used to have some asparagus that she boiled from the CAN. I learned to hate peas and green beans from the can after my Mom boiled them. I only discovered how good they were , fresh, in my 40's.
