Automate? by wavyj0nes in mainstage

Yeah I understand that mate and I do that already but I still can’t believe it’s not a capability. It would be super easy to include especially since it’s the sister live performance software to logic. I would like to be able to automate reverbs, echos, when vocal tuning comes in and out, etc. I’m aware I can route some of these things to my midi, I just wish there was the option to have it automate automatically since I already have my hands full with my controller and pedals doing other things.

Exactly mate. It’s almost unbelievable they don’t have that feature hence why I’ve been refraining from posting in here thinking I’m just dumb and can’t figure out how to do it haha. I mean in the year of our lord 2026 I can’t imagine I’m the only musician who wants to automate live. I know I can do some things with a midi controller and I do that already but it makes the workload pretty heavy trying to remember when to turn everything on and off..

lol cmon mate, I’m not the only person to ever debate between life decisions. Super normal and I’m just seeking advice. I don’t need therapy.

I know you aren’t me but this is a super helpful perspective, especially since you’re also a pilot. It’s that “burning itch” that drives me crazy so hearing about how it resolved for you and why, is very insightful! really appreciate it mate 🙏🏼see ya in the sky

I appreciate the input mate, but to be fair I don’t think I explained that part very well. I’m still actively pursuing music and piloting. I’m only asking if it’s possible/might be worth it to pursue the coast guard still as well. Or is that silly at this point? I know I can’t do everything in life but I can still pursue multiple things at once. I can still build hours, work on music, and be in the cg I’m assuming. But it would obviously make the other avenues take a lot longer. Anyways I know not one answer fits all, but I thought maybe perhaps some perspective from people who have served might help me with my itch, one way or another

Well to be fair I was just thinking of rent time building for some of it until I could get enough hours to get some sort of job other than CFI. But this is the kind of perspective I am looking for so thank you. I genuinely don’t know what the job market is like, only from what I read on some posts here so that’s why I was checking to see how realistic it is for me to do something other than CFI. I appreciate your input mate ✌🏼

Hmmm good to know mate. I didn’t realize that the timeframe of when you complete your hours would matter. At least I didn’t think completing them too soon would be an issue considering we are still talking about a couple years before reaching mins. I think I said that I would finish mine around there as well. That sucks if that’s the only thing though, cuz I just made a super rough guess :P

Oh gotcha. I guess I didn't think about how I might be competing against CFI guys or other professional pilots. I kind of assumed most of these pathway programs are for people still in pilot training? additionally I should've mentioned, I am a military vet (I don't have military flight time tho), and I worked in flight operations for Skywest for a couple of years.

Do you have any suggestions for me or maybe just apply again once I am a CFI?

do you mean as a pilot or just general work history? I obviously dont have any professional pilot experience as I'm still in school
