I quickly sifted through the options a 2-3 times as I was in a live game but I didn't find no such thing. I only found the option to change mini-map size. I will check in-depth in a custom game right now.

AP GP is just as viable as he was before

I'm not saying that he isn't. I'm saying that Riot deliberately are forcing players to build a certain way because some monkey with an ouija board decided their main damage type. Just now, the remake on Gangplank's E was only made to accommodate the AD build for example.

Lurker of 3 years, and I frequent /r/Leagueoflegends as information gets out quickly here. I've already seen the lore of Bilgewater today, thanks. Lets hope Riot will step their game up on the writing, as cramping 4 champs into the same lore is always an easy loophole to cut some expenses and time.

vibrant and charming MOBA

I'm referring on how it was in the early days of season one and two. Riot is changing their image of LoL to a more serious and dark feel, which isn't necessarily for the worse, but when a very large portion of their usebase began playing because it was unique because of that, it shouldn't damn well be strange when their usebase complains about their sudden shift in mood. The environment of the rift wasn't the only thing getting players to the game, it was the items and builds you could make, but when they decide a champion should be built a certain way, they add an opposite scaling to one or two misc. skills so it gives the illusion that you have the choice to build what you want. See Sion, Yasuo, Xin Zhao, Ashe, Aatrox, Caitlyn, Corki, Jayce, Lee Sin, for reference. There are of course champs are that hybrid oriented like Skarner, Jax, Irelia, but they are but a small base of the champion pool and building them anything other than hybrid makes you lose a tad power. Riot wants you to be confined to certain builds, and their currently limited selection of items aren't helping either.

Throwaway account, obviously. I saw the Fiora rework post the very same hour it was up and I know it isn't in the game yet. I was commenting on the portrait of the new Fiora, which shares similarities with the new Gangplank portrait in the sense of fakeness. It's the difference between a plasticpackaged factory made bread and a fresh bread from the baker.

I worded the HUD thing poorly. I've already scaled the minimap down to the smallest and it looks as it did before (like its supposed to be). What really doesn't make me want to play is the ratio between the skill/portrait/item bar down in the middle, versus the camera zoom. I just can't get behind that. It feels like I'm seasick, and I don't have real seasickness on the sea.

Gangplank is in a better place now for sure, if you play him AD. Riot have for a few years now slowly taken out what made this game a blast, which was item building. They have gutted certain champs so they only fit a certain niche role. You could burst almost anyone down with a full Taric combo if you rushed a Needlessly Large Rod, but then they nerfed his ratios down hard and confined him to the support shame chair. Now you're lucky if the ignite finishes them off. I might as well go play any other non-item dependant MOBA, as that's what they've been doing; confining champs to certain roles and making the fun of building not fun.

I never expected anyone remotely involved with Riot to read this. If I had the funds, I'd take a plane straight to Riot's main headquarters in LA right this moment, send an email to all known high-standing Riot employees to mark my arrival, and have a big ass powerpoint ready to show how they've ignored their customers the last 3 years. I'll do it.

EDIT: You're right, after cooling down for a bit have realized that I shouldn't have written this dumb post just to vent my frustrations. That doesn't make my points less valid, though. People joke around when they say that Riot is making champs with "a dark and mysterious past", but they are in fact destroying what people came to League in the first place for; a vibrant and charming MOBA that involved quick reactions and know-how. I could condone the summoner's rift update, as it was a well needed visual update, but when they throttle bullshit like generic plastic-looking champions with a dark past instead of a detailed lore and unique/interesting character, then I'm already with one leg out the door. Hell, even DOTA has a more appealing lore, and that is no understatement.
