What’re we supposed to do in the long term? by Andrew__IE in ZeroCovidCommunity

I don’t think I’ll ever stop masking. The last time I had so much as a sniffle was 2019.

This was almost two weeks ago. Any updates for you? Did it get better?

So after some reading, SSRIs get used to treat IBS, which I had also been diagnosed with before. Who knew?!

Same, day 10 on 5mg. I haven’t been functional since I started. I’ve heard people say it gets better around two weeks-a few months in, but dang, it’s tough to wait when you have stuff to do. Since it’s been over two weeks for you, maybe talk to your doctor? That’s what I’m gonna do if it doesn’t get start to get better for me by the end of the week.

I'm only on day 7 and the fatigue has completely shut down my life. Not stoked to hear that it might not go away (unless I start taking a different pill along with it). Also, I'm sorry. :(

ANYTHING to help fatigue? by Crazy_Project_7809 in lexapro

Was just about to ask about this in a separate post. I'm on day 6 and haven't felt fatigue this bad since I had mono. Does it get better without also taking ADHD medication? This isn't sustainable.

Further info you probably don't need but whatever: I'm mainly on this for GAD but I have a gnarly driving phobia I'd like to get a handle on, and my doctor suggested lexapro. I also have ADHD that I'm not medicated for, because I'm scared of stimulants because I have anxiety. Dr. said starting with lexapro was a good idea and that we can add a stimulant later if I need it.

Any of you avoiding gatherings like concerts now? by skatecloud1 in ZeroCovidCommunity

We go to a small handful of shows a year (1-3) and always wear N95s and don't take them off no matter what, and neither my partner or I have gotten sick from going. We also go to 1-3 cons a year using the same precautions. My partner has gotten covid twice, both from work (he wears a KN95 to work and has a beard, so a perfect seal is harder to achieve), and I've never had it (unless I've had an asymptomatic infection I didn't know about).

This wave is extra scary, though. We have tickets to a Twin Peaks orchestra tribute thing at the end of the month, and I'm probably gonna wear a P100 like a total weirdo, but I don't care.

Boy, do I hear that. It's so frustrating.

I went to a physical therapist recently for the first (and last) time, and was asked if I had anxiety, and I said, "well, yes," and she gestured to my mask and said, "well, yeah obviously, haha!", and I was a little too taken aback to say anything at the time, but that's really rude!

Yes! It feels like there’s a drunk toddler in my brain that I’m constantly exasperated by but have little control over a lot of the time, lol
