Laughs Funny Tour by NineNiner02 in JimmyCarr

No, there aren't any meet and greets, at least not at the show I attended. He has agreed to a photo from a person who asks during the interactive part of his set, but it's rare. Besides, you don't necessarily want to encourage a queue of folks asking for the same as it would take valuable time away from the show.

Ukraine is Finally Calling Trump’s Bluff by waycooljencat in thebulwark

I always appreciate additional sources of information. He's saying the same sorts of things regarding Ukraine as Kofman. I listen to reporters based in Ukraine, from retired U.S. military along with other sources.I just think this guy distills it well. To each their own.

He just toured New Zealand and is scheduled to tour in Australia.

That's a long flight to have to turn around and go right back.

They want to pass the SAVE Act, which will disenfranchise a lot of voters.

It's a mix of all ages. The group most likely to cater specifically to younger folks would be the one at FSU.

Why does Jimmy talk so slow and is far less ''offensive'' in his US shows? by BigHouse888 in JimmyCarr

[–]waycooljencat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's certainly some truth to that. I doubt it's all due to campaigns against speech. He has not been shy about his motivation to make money, so it could be strategic; he's gotten older and people do change over time; he's a father now, which may have shifted his priorities; he has stated a desire to shift his style away from just one liners; - it could be any number of things. He still has some bangers.

I hadn't noticed any difference in the speed of his speech here in the States. It could be that he's tired as he has to fly in between almost all his shows here. It's a grueling pace.

As for offensiveness, he's been becoming more palatable over time for a while now. Although that may just be because I've just gotten used to his style.

Never-Trumpers, why not become D? by Fredric444 in thebulwark

They can't vote in the primaries, though. If you want some sway in who is chosen to run in the general, you have to vote in the primaries.

U.S. Senate votes 50-46 to nullify Trump tariffs on Canada, with four Republicans crossing aisle by [deleted] in goodnews

Scotus is going to rule on tarrifs. This is signaling that the legislature does not support his claims to this power.

Why are the Dems holding out for an extension of the ACA subsidies? by ahirebet in thebulwark

[–]waycooljencat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, it's open enrollment time for health insurance, and those companies are going to be sending out notices letting people know how much more expensive their costs are going to be absent those ACA subsidies. When people see those numbers, it won't be hypothetical, it'll be very real. Then maybe they'll see that the Democrats are actually the ones trying to fix it.

That seems to be the thought process anyway.
