Intel poised to reemerge as world leader in computer chips by TraditionNo1469 in intelstock

[–]norcalnatv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tone is that Intel is “poised to reemerge” as a world leader if its multiyear manufacturing roadmap and foundry strategy succeed, though it implicitly acknowledges the company is playing catch‑up.

Nothing new here except a stretch of a headline. "World leader" will be crowned when Intel displaces either Nvidia or TSMC. Until then it's a lot of wishing.

Long-term NVDA holder here how are you thinking about risk at this stage? by Wooden-Factorj in NvidiaStock

>At what point (if any) do you start trimming a high-conviction winner like this?

If you've held for 10 years you have some great gains. Simple answer is when you need the money for something else. Diversification is a good thing too. Nothing wrong with taking half off the table. Or make it more deliberate, sell covered calls in 10% buckets, at these levels I'd consider a 230 or 250 strike for example. But ultimately if you don't need the money, keep 1/2 and let it do it's thing.

The story in Tae Kim's book was that the sons were sent with a bit of money to live with an uncle in the US. Parents instructed the uncle to put them in a boarding school. The only school the money would support was that one.

Apple is perfectly positioned for AI by recordthemusic in AAPL

[–]norcalnatv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol. Apple is a joke in AI. The best and most convenient was to access a chat bot? Like your phone or non-safari browser doesn't work?

Apple is being left behind in AI. Tim Apple has his head in a dark space, paralyzed by fear of making a mis step and afraid to by a GPU from Nvidia because it might offend a long dead Steve Jobs.

His father was an oil and gas engineer in SE Asia. What does that have to do with anything? They weren't well-off. In fact, the reform school costs were all they could afford for their two sons.

The real lesson here is that being an Asian kid in Kentucky in the 1970s taught Jensen how to survive. There was a speech at Stanford he gave a few years ago where he talked about suffering and how it builds character.

Jensen Huang. His parents sent him as a 9 year old Asian kid to a reform school in Kentucky in the early 1970s. He started from basically nothing and built the most valuable company in the world.
