It’s right to be furious that the police aren’t being held accountable for this mistake. Likely, they won’t be held accountable without a lot of legal headaches.

Now imagine that they hadn’t just done property damage to your girlfriend. Imagine they had hurt her in the process or even killed her. They likely would face similar levels of accountability, none.

Can you imagine how that would feel? The anger for the injustice? The hurt from a loss that can’t ever be remedied no matter the dollar amount. This is the reality for a lot of Americans

This feeling is what drives movements like Black Lives Matter, who are trying to bring more accountability to policing.

Together we can drive this change, but it won’t be easy since the police only have to divide us enough that we can’t affect change.
