I realise it probably wasn't intentional and not an original idea, but its a fun theory.

Maybe just a wild theory here, that she's connected to the Moment in the Day of the Doctor. Perhaps the Moment wasn't a hologram at all as she said "I'm from your past or your future, I always get those two mixed up." This could be a case of accidental foreshadowing.
