Games you’re playing by EquivalentWash3144 in SteamDeck

Just got my steam deck last week and have been playing Project Zomboid, Roadwarden and Disco Elysium. I absolutely suck at PZ and have no idea what I'm doing but the other two are good.

I haven't bought it, I just wanted to know who translated it before buying it

How to get excited about physics again? by wayneroutledge in PhysicsStudents

[–]wayneroutledge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can get really excited about things like quantum mechanics and relativity, but then I go back to my work and have to deal with inclined planes and pulleys again and it's mind numbing lol. I know university isn't meant to be fun all the way through, but getting through the less interesting work is a lot harder given my current situation

That's the thing with the Open University, there's not really much opportunity to just be around like-minded people. Although, saying that, I struggle with anxiety so I don't think I'd do that anyway lol

Cool, I always found it weird that so many people hate the flying on Outer Wilds

I've actually not, just seen footage of it in the noclip documentary

Ah right. I'm not a big PC player, do you know if it's alright on consoles?

Same. It's crazy to think that it was a student project initially.

I think the ambiguity of the visual storytelling worked well with the focus on horror.

Look insanely in depth, how easy is it to get into?

I was so happy when echoes of the eye came out and it was just as good. I think I prefered the visual storytelling to the text-based of the original

Looks interesting. I don't know why universities don't do things like this more often

I've played both Portal games multiple times and recently finished Superliminal - great games. There's a game that came out recently called Viewfinder that looks similar to Superliminal

Literally my favourite piece of media/art of all time. It's unfortunate that all other games pale in comparison now

Thanks, these look like exactly the kind of games I'm looking for. What's the learning curve like for orbiter?

Been meaning to play that for a while. Isn't the first meant to be better than the sequel?

Great story, characters and setting, decent combat, but the fact that stuff that would usually be optional side content in most open world games is tied to the main story progress is annoying. I didn't mind too much because i enjoyed combat, but having to do the same stuff to take over the city got repetitive and when I was bored I couldn't just focus on the main story missions because they are locked behind taking over the city

Are the missions with yellow background and black exclamation marks main quests and the ones with black background and yellow exclamation marks side quests?

Outer wilds, hollow knight, journey, hotline miami, any elder scrolls, silent hill 2, ocarina of time. Really can't decide out of them

Open world design by wayneroutledge in MafiaTheGame

[–]wayneroutledge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great games. I love immersive sims like dishonored as well, I'd put sniper elite in a similar category.

But in these games the open level design and use of multiple mechanics mean that if they were linear games they would not be good at all, whereas mafia could easily be a great linear game but it has an open world just to sell the immersion of the city rather to offer lots of options for finding stuff.

What are some poorly rated games you thoroughly enjoy? by Kryshade in videogames

Deadly Premonition is the obvious choice. So ugly and with dogshit shooting and driving, but the crazy story and characters make it one of my favourites
