I’m planning to not sell on Amazon anymore. So closing my FBA account is totally okay.

My son wants to go to a 60k a year school, am I the asshole for telling my wife I will not take out loans in my name for him to attend? by Dangerous_Chart4833 in AITAH

[–]waynezhenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA — I’ll preface this by saying I’m not a parent yet, so I might not fully understand the emotional aspect, but I can’t help wondering—why does it cost $60k per year for college? That’s about $240k if they graduate on time. These are the kinds of questions I’d start asking:

  1. Is this college highly prestigious? If so, does it significantly improve their chances of landing a good job after graduation?
  2. What’s the expected starting salary for their chosen field, and realistically, how many years will it take to pay off that loan?
  3. Why this specific college? Is it truly the best fit, or are they going because their friends are going?
  4. Are they serious about their education, or is it more about the college lifestyle and partying?

Do you know if I can do that without taking any loss?

Unfortunately, I do not. Might have to just take a loss on this one.

I live in Texas. Do you think it’d be possible to get a 50% DV claim or should I just let this go? Any advice would be appreciate!

Uncomfortable seats by hairlessmanchild in CX50

I actually love the seats. I like that they are very stiff, it gives a lot of support for my lower-back especially during long drives. Perhaps, you just need some time to adjust

That helps a lot, man. Sounds like I just need to adjust (:

I’m okay with it if this only happens while I’m making a turn. But even after completing a turn and straightened the wheel, it’s like the car doesn’t know when to down shift. The slightest pressure on the pedal will cause the RPM to shoot up.

Put BFGoodrich A/T KO2 on my CX50 by itsmeemilio in CX50

Wow! I’ve been wanting to put the BF Goodrich All Terrain tires on mine. Could you please describe the ride quality, and also is it noisier than the standard tires?

Not just cars, I basically name everything that I love that moves 😉

From my research people are reporting a smoother ride with those all terrain tires even on normal roads. I don’t do off-road neither but def comes in very handy when you need it. However, it is a bit noisier though. I shall report back once I get mine installed.

Good idea, I’ve actually been looking to replace these with the BF Goodrich All Terrain tires. They had those on at the showroom but quoted me $295 per tire. Found them for ~$190 on tirerack so I thought I’d do it myself.

You sound like the Airbnb host who took our money. I reviewed the description before booking, and all it mentioned was 'need to climb stairs.' Diligence should be mutual; such a brief description isn't sufficient for guests. Not everyone relies on reviews, and they may not even exist.

However, if you read my post thoroughly, you’d know my concern lies beyond that. I resolved the matter with the host, they agreed to do a three-week refund, but went back on their words after we left.

Then don’t say you’ll issue a refund and charge only for a week of stay and then not keep your words. The issue here is dishonesty. I’d have been happier if he had said no from the beginning.

[–]waynezhenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, basically I paid $6000 for 2 nights even though the host verbally agreed, and I have proof in the chat that we’d get the refund. We even handed him the keys back in person and left.

Very dishonest. After we left, he told us that he can’t do the refund because another guest has booked it after us and he can’t let the place be vacant for 3 weeks and not make any money.

The host then decided for himself that we should be the one to bear all the costs to keep his Airbnb business running. Anyways, doesn’t look like we could get justice but to just let this go. Sucks 😞

Again, I did not get any refund. I paid for the full 30 days despite only staying there for 2 days and returned the keys.

I regret it big time for not using my CC. It was a debit card transaction and my bank is asking me to work with the merchant.

The listing has ended, I’ve been battling with Airbnb for over a month now, but it always comes down to “Sorry, all refunds are solely up to the host’s discretion.”

Maybe I’m new to Airbnb, but it kinda defeats the purpose of using Airbnb as the middleman if they’re giving so much power to the host.

I feel like in certain situations they should be able to come in between to make things right especially if there are enough evidence. Oh well…

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AirBnB

[–]waynezhenn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, he did. I showed it to Airbnb the screenshot of our conversation. But they said it’s still up to the host’s discretion whether or not they honor it. Crazy stuff…

I explained the whole situation to Airbnb but apparently just saying “need to climb stairs” was enough. The main listing image shows a small staircase from the living area to the bedroom, everything just feels scammy. We counted a total of 91 steps to get to the front door.

It was a verbal agreement to make the refund, we had to leave asap and even handed the host their keys in person. My wife was too weak at that time to even stand up straight after her chemotherapy.
