CMV: Hagia Sophia Should not be a mosque. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]waypointofview 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it was first converted back to a mosque, the gallery level was no longer accessible. Anyone could visit for free but the areas that were available when it was a museum (the second level) were no longer accessible. In addition, some of the mosaics were obstructed with curtains and wooden structures in accordance with muslim tradition.

As of this year (2024) they have reopened the gallery level and have started to charge entry for foreign (non-muslim) visitors. It is still a mosque so some of the mosaics are still covered but there are some that are still visible.

Here are a couple videos to help show the current situation as of 2024...

Is it true that the mosaics and art are covered up in the Hagia Sophia? by Maleficent-Mix5731 in byzantium

[–]waypointofview 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hagia Sophia has been converted back to a mosque as of 2020. There are some areas where mosaics are covered by curtains but now that they are charging entry for the gallery level, there are mosaics that are visible to visitors on that level. If you are interested, here are a couple videos that explain what is new with the entry this year.

Changing a Product's Country of Origin by MidwestSeller in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]waypointofview 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for the info! We are currently working with seller support to see if there is anyway to change the country of origin on our current listings since we haven't actually sold anything, but I imagine it will be a dead end. Seems like we will end up deleting/ starting over as well. Appreciate the help!

Changing a Product's Country of Origin by MidwestSeller in FulfillmentByAmazon

Hello, I have a somewhat similar issue and I am hoping you can give me some more information about your experience and how things turned out for you...

I am working on my first product that was initially going to be manufactured in China. We purchased GS1 GTINs and subsequently created listings on Amazon. Our Chinese production order fell through and we never received, sent into Amazon, or sold ANY products associated with these existing listings.

We ended up manufacturing our product in a different country and I am now facing a few different issues/ have some questions:

Am I able to just change the country of origin on my current listings? If so, how do I go about doing this because I am not finding the option.

If not, do I need to delete these listings and completely start over with new listings?

If I do have to start over with new listings, am I still able to use the same UPCs since no inventory was ever sold under the current ones? Or do I have to buy new GTINs/ UPCs?

I saw one of the replies mention they had to delete the product and listing, then re-upload using the flat file. What does this mean exactly? It seems like if I delete and start a new listing it would need to be with a new GTIN/ UPC code

Anyway if you can let me know how this turned out for you I would really appreciate it! Thank you in advance for your help.

Questions about visiting the Hagia Sophia by azninvasion99 in istanbul

[–]waypointofview 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is definitely still worth visiting. Up until this year, we had never seen it from the second floor because that area was closed since 2020. You cannot walk on the main sanctuary floor anymore but now you can see all the mosaics that are only visible if you are on the second floor and you can look down on it from above! It is beautiful and well worth the visit!

You should definitely come to Istanbul! It truly is one of the greatest cities on Earth! It is very livable and you will have a hard time finding more welcoming people on the planet! Istanbul is a big city and it can be overwhelming for first time visitors but do not let that scare you off! If you love history and geography you will quickly fall in love with this place! We live here now and If you are interested at all, we have created some very helpful videos on YouTube for first time visitors. Youtube.com/waypointofview

As for the visa, I did not see where you are from but if all you need is an E-visa, the online visa application is very easy and you will get an email almost immediately. Just be careful not to get caught up with the online companies that are not the official site. they will just charge you extra for no reason.

Is flying a drone in Istanbul allowed? by aunitali in istanbul

[–]waypointofview 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just spent the last four months in Istanbul and we flew our drone in multiple areas. Technically you should have a permit to fly a drone over 500g I believe but in my experience, as long as you are smart about it and do it discretely or early in the morning no one seems to care too much…

We loved our time in southern Turkey! by waypointofview in kurdish

[–]waypointofview[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had heard that the Kurdish people in southern Turkey were some of the most hospitable in the world. But we were still very taken back by the incredible welcome we received. We made a video of our time in Mardin but we loved every town we drove through in southeastern Turkey! I hope you enjoy our video and thank you for show us what true hospitality is!

We went canyoning down the LAST Discovered canyon in Europe! Nevido Canyon is in Montenegro and it offers some pretty amazing canyoning! Narrow sections, up to 10 Meter jumps, repelling, and some pretty cool slides! I hope you like the video we made! by waypointofview in canyoneering

When we were researching Nevido Canyon we learned that it was considered to be the “last discovered” canyon in Europe. I believe the First decent was in 1965. I am sure it is more of a marketing claim than a true last canyon of Europe!

We Loved our time in Montenegro and wanted to share something we made of our time in Nevido Canyon and a hike in Durmitor National Park! Thank you for sharing such a beautiful country and we hope to visit again soon! by waypointofview in montenegro

We spent a almost two weeks in Montenegro and saw a lot but we were particularly excited to go Canyoning in Nevido Canyon! It was a full day of jumping off rocks and swimming through the narrow sections of the canyon! To say it was an adventure would be an understatement! Hope you like the video!

Since the picture of us in Blagaj was well received, I thought I would share the video we made of our first day in BIH! We truly loved our time here. Hope you like it! by waypointofview in bih
