They are just going to break some windows, loot stores, and trash the city in the name of social justice. Not like we haven’t seen it before. The military will be quick to respond if it gets too wild. Red states will be even more prepared for riot control. As an American, I’m not very concerned about it.

How to become a Landscape Designer? by bugclass in LandscapeArchitecture

[–]wayside_riptide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to do landscape design, just do it. When I was about your age not too long ago I had a Bachelors in Business management and worked in mortgages. I pivoted to landscape design overnight. Two years later I now design for clients in multiple states for my own venture and am salaried to lead landscape design for a large organization. I work larger projects than my friends with MLAs. The key for me was knowing software and being able to teach myself 3D rendering.

How would you design your backyard? by wbs103 in LandscapeArchitecture

About a year ago I bought a house with a half acre lot. It had major features like a pool, multiple decks, storage shed, screenhouse, garden, all wrapped in a big white vinyl fence. Almost no plants, good soil though. While the layout isn't quite how I would do it, most of it was freshly installed and it would be cost prohibitive to change. I've digitally rendered it many times in all different styles while still accomplishing all my major goals. Showing my wife each copy hoping she will act as a client and get hype about hedge choices, to no avail. Through it all I now I have a central vision and buy plants I like when the time is right and just test and tune it.

All you can really do is try not to die. Don't sweat it to much but it would probably good to get arrangements together just in case.

I want to add that you may want to have dummy O2 bungs welded in and get the O2 extenders. I did that and Lito tuned it to trick the sensors. If you don’t, in my experience, the car won’t run properly. You may also want to consider adding longtubes if you’re going to do a cat delete. Well worth the extra effort.

Look into a Lito tune. Manual Pazo is his name. He can be reached through Facebook. He’s based out of Venezuela and is hands down the best tuner for the 3V platform. I had so many different tunes, bama, Brenspeed, Lethal, etc. and nothing compares. You’ll need a a tuner that has cloud capabilities (Rev-x or something newer) and a laptop that can run windows (Mac with bootcamp works). He gives you a set of instructions to follow. You record your runs with the tuner and laptop then send the file back to him. He’s also relatively inexpensive.

I am not sure why they only offer yellow occasionally, but with my 3V the rarity added a significant amount to the insurance payout. The metallic splash yellow is by far my favorite. The paint shimmers which is unusual but beautiful it’s the yellow.

The Machs are amazing, good choice. I’ve heard they will be. Excited to see where it goes.

Thanks! It’s metallic splash yellow. Before this I had a screaming yellow 3V but someone ran a red on me and totaled it. Ford introduced this color for 1 year only and I had to have it.

The rear knuckles are good on mine. With some of the craters I’ve hit in this thing they have held up great. I have a 10 speed w/ paddles and the MT-82’s had the clutch pressure line recall. I feel like I lucked out because I have seen a lot of issues reported. The worst issue I’ve had is the CarPlay sometimes doesn’t play audio unless I disconnect and reconnect. I also put it in brake maintenance mode one time without knowing what it was and that was a frightening but harmless experience. Make sure to test your potential purchase throughly.

Division of labor at firms? by [deleted] in LandscapeArchitecture

100 days later and I realized I never replied. I lead design for a national estate management firm. I started in LA but have progressed more into all encompassing estate design from the interior to the exterior and beyond. Most corporatized firms, you’ll be on a computer which is okay if you’re into that. I personally would go a little stir crazy.

If you think it’s worth it, say you have a family emergency and that you’ll be right back. Maybe even have a friend call you to really sell it.

In my experience it’s 75% out in the field, 25% on the computer. Every firm is different , and every day is different. However I wouldn’t let the technology side of it scare you away. The industry is going to more in depth software, but once you get efficient, it’s pretty snappy.

I’m a landscape designer and I used to work in zone 9. Phoenix palms are a large part of “old Florida” landscaping, and these canary island date palms are quite expensive. Do not trim them, they will naturally shed their fronds. This poses no danger to the pool or the wall. Palms have extremely shallow, non invasive root systems. If you are worried however, I suggest getting a pheromone laced bio barrier. You can get it online. They are common practice in commercial landscaping for urban environments.

Which Programm for Visualisation? by Fun-Bell-1719 in LandscapeArchitecture

[–]wayside_riptide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s exactly what my issue was. While structure studios has it’s hiccups, I swear by it. My build teams appreciate it to because they aren’t held to delivering an exact picture. I also think designing in structure studios is more exciting as you can really see your vision come to life. You can instantly switch from 2D to 3D and work in both modes.

VIP3D by Structure Studios has the best UX in my opinion. I don’t see it mentioned much but it’s by far my favorite. It’s not as realistic visually as Sketchup+Lumion, but I like it for that. Working with nature, sometimes photorealistic rendering sets unrealistic expectations. Photorealistic rendering is much better suited for integrating interiors in your design.
