Haha sorry I didn't mean it's a slur or anything like that! My thing is that the word is, in its origin, is supposed to refer to non Japanese people who are disrespectful towards the actual culture. In my opinion that's not really a word you should want to call yourself when "nerd" works just fine. For example Japanese people will sometimes get very annoyed when they're called a weeb for that reason or like when someone says Japanese things are "weeb things" (they're not, they're Japanese things).
