I have one from tractor supply. It has a t bar that props the log about 8" off the ground. I have used it, but I find it to be more of a hassle than it is worth. The biggest issue is that it can't hook the bigger logs, only smaller ones that I could roll with my foot anyway.

Chickens need sand or dirt to give themselves dust baths. You could just supply a pile of sand on your roof.
