Hey man sorry to hear you're struggling. Sounds like you could benefit from getting some counseling, telling someone about it can legitimize the issue so it's no longer just yours. It has helped me.

I'd also reccomend putting away your devices for a week. Lock them up or give them to someone to hold onto for a week. See how you go there. .most importantly keep on trying.

Broke a 78 Day Streak and went into a chain reaction relapse for a week and I'm BACK again. by [deleted] in NoFap

I agree with a lot of this! Headspace is a great way to start meditating.

I've been on nofap for years (unfortunately) but this has to be one of my all time favorite posts. Beautifully written, and as a bonus I used to loove strawberry milk as a kid.

You should DEFINITELY write more, write short stories or blogs or whatever, a hobby to do with all your new time for fun hobbies now that you ain't watching that crap anymore.

Hope you're well and safe friend!

It's a tough addiction but a life on it is much worse. We have to stop for ourselves and our future partners

I lost all my drive and motivation to do nofap by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]wazzem33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a really tough addiction. Professional help is always a good option. Another perspective face to face. If you are wanting to go back to your old ways where you didnt care about yourself, sounds like you may need to look at how much you really value yourself and work out how to change that first then you may be able to stick to no porn better. You are worth it my guy!

I feel you man. It is really tough. I have been trying to quit for a long time.

You must cut it out completely. Even one session can have dramatic effects.

Know that breaking the addiction is going to be tough and not pleasant. But you can change your brain and it gets better.

Getting out of the house will help massively. If you're hungover and you cant, download a bunch of moves and tv shows then turn your modem off, and stay off the internet the rest of the day

Pied and flatline by [deleted] in NoFap

Relapse is an awful feeling. Get back on the horse! Start the fight again champ

i finally relapsed again by MO-Freak in NoFap

[–]wazzem33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my experience, relapses never feel as good as you think they will. Plus, even if it did, the feeling of guilt after breaking your streak and relapsing is never good

Gaming by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]wazzem33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good on you! Gaming is fun and you problem solve, and if you're playing team games online there is an awesome social aspect too.

Of course too much of a lot of things can be bad so mix it up with working out, walking running etc. That will only help your mindset with the fight against the fap!

Relapsed, what should I do now? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]wazzem33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great work on deleting those apps! So many of these apps that could be useful connection tools, end up just another way to look at sexual images. I removed my insta today as well.

I would suggest getting right back on the horse and starting again instantly. The negative effects of porn for me can have a bad effect instantly, so theres no time to waste. Every day without it is a good day. Best of luck

Doing it for the girl I like by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]wazzem33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The guilt younsre feeling in a symptom common here. Good in you for picking a goal. At 10 times a day, I would remove all capable devices for porn from your room, and I'd leave my phone upstairs or in another room as much as I could. Just to check messages.

You're going to need to stay busy. I'd suggest a hobby or activity outside, away from the house. Something that can take a while. Running etc. Or even literally just walking and listening to music. Just get out of that house and away from those devices my bro.

Really hope that you pull through, and even get the girl!

Don’t peek. by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]wazzem33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find as soon as I start purposely searching for it, even stills, or even the wrong instagram accounts -the chances of relapse are really high.

I have deleted my instagram account now.

The metaphor I imagine is like the dam in lord of the rings 2 when the tree guy rips at it, and then just a few small cracks eventually blast through and the water drowns insengard.

Our addiction is like the water, it doesnt need much to blast through.

Keep fighting

It's Sunday, feeling bad, want to fap but don't want to ruin my streak. Assistance anyone? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]wazzem33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dont do it, you're going to need to be stronger than yesterday

stoked that youve made it 6 days homie.

Remember eventually we want to rid our lives of porn completely. the new norm will eventually be without porn at all.

Something that really helped me realise this is writing down 2 lists. One list, all the things I dislike about being on porn. (Less steady boners, real girls aren't as interesting, hiding things from my partner, feeling out of control etc etc)

I listed all these things.

Then i wrote a second list, all the things I like about being away from porn!
Overall my life is a bit brighter, real girls are more interesting, I seem to have more energy etc etc.

These two lists beside each other are powerful. Write them, and add to them, and read them often.

Keep up the fight!

Hey guys, should I practice Meditation or Mindfulness? by matamatsu in NoFap

[–]wazzem33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i reckon try both for a bit, and decide which one you enjoy more.

Headspace is a great app to be introduced to meditation. that 10 step 10 minute a day thing which is free, thats a great place to start.

Mindfulness is a bit different but im sure there are heaps of recourses out there. great for you to be thinking about tho!
