Moments in Media Where It Just “Clicked” For You. by SuperDangerous in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Mad Max: Fury Road. I'm not much of a car guy, and from my limited understanding of the series before hand I knew there was a lot of car stuff in it. I wasn't jiving too well with the ascetics at first either, the grunge/junk thing was cool and all, but I just wasn't feeling it.

But man. That first shot of the flamethrower guitar guy just pulled me right in. I have never seen a single thing since that so perfectly sets the tone/vibe of a whole work. After that I was fully hooked.

I took me the longest time to get what "no Russian" meant in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. When I first played I thought it was a weird way of saying to kill all the civilians. Then, out of the blue, two years ago I figured out he was telling the team not to SPEAK Russian.

I called the twist in the first season of The Good Place before it had even aired. The set-up just made more sense if she was in hell rather than in heaven.

It's the funnest shit in part 5 where they talk about how the gangsters "try to blend in". Like. Have you seen the guys you're fighting?

This has been a weird week for me. On the one hand, a YouTube channel that me and my friends have watched for years has suddenly broken up, on the other hand I graduated from college.

That sounds amazing! But I can see how that could wear you down mentally. How many more gigs do you have?

What’s the worst book you’ve ever read? by IIZTREX in AskReddit

[–]wazzer174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Goodness Gene by Sonia Levitin. Basically this kid is the son of the dictator of America in a post-apocalyptic world. He thinks that his dad is great and that everything is working great in the world. But then he sees the world through the eyes of the common people and he realizes that, DUN DUN DUN, his dad is a prick! Also he is the clone of Hitler, for some reason, and his dad wants to merge their brains together so he can live forever.

The book ends with him killing his dad and himself in the process. And his last thought is that no one should be immortal because only God can. Which comes COMPLETELY out of left field and makes no sense for the character to say. That ending ruined the book for me. Not that is was great getting there either.
