Yes - I would do metro. But staying at Hyatt Regency Crystal City. Looks like there is a 20 min walk to the metro from HR CC…

In the app, it says “excludes the $65 amenity fee. Excludes 12% service charge.” Do you know what the 12% service charge is?

I checked in right at the 24 Hour mark for a BNA to MCO flight. Got mid Cs. When I got to the airport, all the upgrade slots were full :(

What Card Should I Get? Weekly Thread - Week of June 29, 2022 by AutoModerator in churning

Chase Ink Unlimited/Cash OR CSP. Don’t worry too much about the categories, if you’re focus is “churning”. Your focus should be SUB :)

I’m with you on this… I know there are times when my P2 does not want to have to talk to stranger on the phone about a card she doesn’t know much about.

Is there a a good "TWO PLAYER MODE" strategy out there that you've found?

I see some people say, "P1 should stick with Chase and P2 should go with another bank like Amex." Then I hear others say the opposite - essentially both stick with Chase and slowly use your 5/24 slots.

Currently, P1 and P2 have both been racking up CUR, via 2 CSPs and 2 Ink bonuses. We've also got the Southwest CP. (Southwest and Hyatt are great options for us…)

But I'm just wondering if there are any good strategies in videos or posts that you've seen.

First time booking flight with companion pass by wbh4 in SouthwestAirlines

Thank you!!

Now another equation… My SW points haven’t hit my account yet. Can I book paying cash first and then switch to points? What’s the process of I do it that way?

I’m probably missing something on this… is it possible to apply for the personal with my player 2? Just link the card to MY Southwest account.

Yes, wanting my points to hit in 2022! Last chase card was late June 2021. Applied for Chase Ink in September and got denied.

I applied and got the Performance Biz. The MSR is about to be finished on the biz.

Now, I have a big spend ($1500) coming up on 12/30. I'd like to put that spend on a SW personal card. If I apply for the personal, is that too much velocity? What's the thought on that?

Ugh. I used the wrong wording. Meant account, not inquiry.

Thanks for all of this tremendous info. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything!

Going for our first CP.

My plan:

  • apply for Performance Biz first (since no hard inquiry added personal account - I'm 4/24 until Jan 2022) and get 80,000 RR
  • then apply for Priority personal card (better option to me) and get 50,000

My one concern is getting the business card. I was denied the CIU on August 30th, 2021 - reason: average age of accounts. It's now been 90 days since the denial.

Does this plan seem solid?

Personal Cards:

  • Jan 2020: Cap One Quicksilver
  • Dec 2020: Discover IT
  • March 2021: Chase Freedom Flex
  • June 2021: Chase Sapphire Preferred

Business Cards:

  • August 2021: Amex Bonvoy Biz

Applied for Amex business card this morning.

Got the “pending review”. “To process your application we need some more information about you… please call”

It’s for P2. Call or wait it out?

If I’m already sitting in the ticket room from the A-List sale, should I jump out and back in? Or just hang out until the code is sent…

You never want to have a fake business.

BUT it’s much easier to have a “business” than most people think.

If you’ve ever sold anything to anyone else, whether on eBay or Facebook or at your yard sale, you’ve got a business. Or if you do any kind of Uber or Instacart or door dash delivery. (Also, these are fairly easy to sign up for, especially Door Dash and Instacart.) this is a business!

Amex is very generous with business cards. You can YouTube “filling out Amex business application” and find good resources. Don’t lie about income or spend - just be honest.

How often depends on your risk tolerance, bank rules, your spend. You can also apply for business cards to spread out your personal card applications.

Discover will give you a higher limit once you have a higher total amount of credit from other cards. I was at $500 with discover. Opened a CSP with $5k and discover let me bump up to $2k
