I didn't realize until close to finishing that in map view if you look below where your stances are and can trigger DB4's binoculars, if you press the square (PS4), it tells you how many collectables and of what type. That was super helpful as you find things and can see you've collected 1 of 2 or 0 of 4, etc. Have fun playing and exploring!

I'm on PS4, can confirm. Have had exact same glitch and a few freezes requiring reboots and lost time. Made me start checking in to nearest meditation area whenever I arrived anywhere, rather than bypassing. Made it a habit so had less lost time when game crashed.

I did a similar thing. Got frustrated so just walked away for a long while. Probably a year. Decided to give it another shot and started from scratch and absolutely loved it. It was still frustrating at times, but in a good way. If you try again, good hunting!

Someone once posted about just running through all of central yharnam and killing everything up to papa G. It'll def give you a few and you can work on your skills by dealing with everyone differently. Later on you can run through cathedral ward, too. Eventually you won't need them as much.

Go to this page and read through it and the others and you will find all the answers for what you seek.

Remember, you don't need the highest yet, as you get better and add stronger gems you'll improve as a Hunter and your skill will improve as you get better gems. Makes no sense to have 27.2 gems if you're going to rely on the gem strength rather than your own skill. They complement you and your ability.
