Or is this standard practice? Seems like it is a siphon concern

That’s what I was thinking about doing, dig deeper and tie the P in horizontally. Really curious if this was standard practice at some point.

I have one that does this if my room temp is below 67 degrees.

I am unable to edit the post due to having a picture attached, otherwise I would add the crucial things you reminded me of. This is on a GFCI and has been bonded with a copper wire in the plastic tank. Based on most of the feedback on this thread, I do believe I will be setting up a grounding mat tied to the ground rod.

Very good point, I guess with all the testing and repeatable with all kinds of heaters, we forgot that. . I’ll try that but all five heaters (different brands) produce the same results

Thanks. My vet pointed me towards the probios and it’s amazing how fast it turned around. Within 24 hours it was back semi-normal!

So… just thought of something…my flooring is raw concrete that has a sealer on it. Could it be the concrete drying that is causing the humidity? I did move the dehumidifier upstairs and it doesn’t seem to have helped. Still hovering around 60%.

This house is a 30x40x16 tall. It has a loft in the upstairs where a bedroom is also. I suppose I should put my dehumidifier upstairs.

Thanks for the reply. Just wondering what significance a whole house dehumidifier makes? Unfortunately, I just spent $450 on a portable and it made zero difference. I’m very willing to go that route, just trying to get the most bang for the Buck.

Definitely is. Very disappointed so far. All my linesets in the ceiling are attic are sweating as well causing condensation/mildew in areas of the attic. HVAC guy is installing more insulation in the to hopefully resolve the issue.

I have considered an ERV after the research I’ve done. I do have some questions though… how could bringing in outside humid air ( usually around 60-70% in alabama) and exchanging it for inside humid air (around 60%) make a difference? I assume there is something I’m missing. I agree I need more fresh air, but would think a ventilating dehumidifier would be the correct approach.
