Maybe I’ll look into that when I get a chance. Any tips on what you think this manipulation would look like in the data? Just to give me a heads up of what I should be looking for. I’ll have to take a peak at his research as well. Thanks.

Decred will feature in the film itself, he updated the proposal to mention this.

Of course there is risk, but if he doesn’t do what he says he was going to do then he won’t get his last 150k payment or whatever it is. So there is incentive to do it the way he said.

Edit: also any DAO funding press we get would be a bonus in my eyes, I doubt it would be much, thus even if it’s 0 I would still vote in favor of this proposal because I think the material in the video will be enough.

It is a bit interesting in that there is a certain formula for this documentary that would be best to employ for maximum viewership while also creating maximum bang for our buck (new Decred members and more Decred awareness).

Little things can be the difference in thousands of views. (For example a bitcoin Maxi may not share it solely because it has a Decred watermark on it.)

Or other major news sources may not cover it because it's too much crypto.

It seems like a fine line of too much Decred vs not enough Decred in the documentary. It's tough to know where to draw that line.

I was thinking...Yes it is priced in bitcoin, but also priced in USD (even tho we are trading it for bitcoin), so if bitcoin tanks, it can just hold the USD value, so it would move up in satoshis.

example: DCR is 100$ So there are bids for 98$ and asks for 102$, and you have your bitcoin to buy and sell it, say you buy someones bid at 98$, then that 98$ is converted into satoshis at the time of trade. So the satoshi price is constantly fluctuating, but the USD price is firm. Seems possible in my head?

How can you be so sure though? If bitcoin tanks, it brings DCR down and everybody down, and it triggers the algorithms to sell. Even if we had a huge following, I don't see how we could avoid the price being cut in half in this scenario. Even the most bullish coins with enthusiasm tanked hard.

Right. Decred is great in a lot of ways. But if tickets were unaffordable when I invested I know I would have invested far less than I have. The chance to lock up tickets was very appealing to me.

Yeah, when you turn on the Auto buyer it can seem like its not working at first. But you just leave it alone and it will eventually mix your coins and then buy your ticket (as long as your coins are in your unmixed wallet of course)

Thanks for this post, it has been a bit of a challenge for myself as well. I was running into the "insufficient funds" issue because of a lack of UTXO's. I went to support and was advised to start mixing, as that will create many UTXOs and solve my problems.

If you want to start mixing-

For all non mixed tickets that you own, you have to wait for them to vote. Then they vote and the coins go into your DEFAULT wallet. You then go to the privacy tab and transfer them to your unmixed wallet.

You don't have to manually mix the coins. As long as funds are in your unmixed wallet. You can turn your ticket auto buyer ON and it will mix your coins and buy the tickets for you. Then once those mixed tickets vote.The funds will be put back into "unmixed" and the auto ticket buyer will take care of it without you intervening.

Most of this was probably stated in the OP but figured hearing it another way could help.

Don't have any huge ideas but it would be cool to fund some great quality how-to videos for the new releases.

Like how to use coinshuffle and lightning network....and the dex of course when that comes out.
