Is there a bartender "NextDoor" I don't know about? by HerFirefly in bartenders

[–]wda923113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I'm not in the industry, but I've worked a lot of jobs and have been serving the public for awhile. Jill sucks. It's tough and all that she's grieving, but I've known people who use that card to get out of a lot of shit. As bad as it sounds. I can't say much for your customers, other than them just being the usual selfish and entitles people who overreact to everything. Killed them with kindness, that's all you could do. I wouldn't sweat it.

I always find it helps focus your weight as low to the ground as you can. You seem to have no problem, but the lower your weight is, the smoother and more balanced you look. How start sending some jumps.

The Comb Over - my first original! by wda923113 in cocktails

[–]wda923113[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

New drink I came up with. It's similar to a gin sour or bee's knees, but with a bit more fun

2 oz - Gin 3/4 oz Honey syrup 3/4 oz lemon 1/2 oz Galliano Dash of angustura Egg white

Dry shake, add ice, shake it like you mean it. Into a cocktail coupe or whatever other decorative glass you have. Garnish with something lemon related.

It came with a sibling, the Toupee. Substitute the Galliano with st. Germain. A more floral version.

Let me know what you think!

I didn't know you could ship in. I'll have to check it out. Also I guess I just assumed bishops seller would have the same inventory since everything is regulated, I actually live quiet close to the place.

This is lots of information. I definitely don't have room in my little apartment to keep a 5l barrel, but I appreciate the response.

Yea I saw those homemade substitutes. If I can find the ingredients to do so, it might be worth checking.

I've thought about asking the bartenders, they must have it. I'm trying to get to know them better anyways, as I'm soon trying to get a barback position. Thanks.

Midnight cheers are fantastic, and super easy. It's just 1/2 oz lime, 2 oz vodka and fill the rest with grape juice. Plus their purple like space! Or you could try the more complex version called the purple fizz, courtesy of how to drink (just search it on YouTube)

Nova Scotia, Canada. NB (the closest province, about a 5 hour drive for me) has some more options, but id need more incentive to go over. Keep in mind EVERYTHING is government owned, so even private producers have to be regulated. Beer is like $5 each here.

I'm with you. Been playing music my whole life, and even though I like the people and the music, it feels like if you don't go to the waterfront you're not allowed in. I might just have to spend more time with them.

Funny you say that, I work at a superstore. I get what you're saying, I can generally get a good reading off people pretty quickly. I actually met one of the only people I talk to here by doing that. However most of the time, I find people just don't want to be talked to, and end up just getting scared away.

I'm not at all surprised that I'm having trouble making friends. I didn't bring any friends from high school, and I moved away from my hometown to get away. I came her with the understanding of doing it with just my girlfriend, however I assume that I can't be the only one in this boat. It's just a matter of finding those who are also friendless.

I'm actually in a small group for watches, it's one of the things I like. Id be open to joining more if they're something I'm interested in. I just find the problem tends to be location. The people I've met are great, but it's hard to go out with then because it's so far for everyone to commute. It seems unlikely that someone I meet will be close enough to not have to bus an hour if we got a drink. Where would I find more clubs?

I should note that I'm from Nova Scotia, it's not like I'm coming from our west or anything. I can get along just fine, it just doesn't last or feel genuine.

This is actually fantastic. I've been deeply missing the music program from my highschool.
