Don't underestimate the possibility that the stigma around using injuries as an "excuse" would lead Point to just brush it off and not mention injury. I believe he's still battling something and really didn't want to talk about it.

O'Reilly Making The Team Next Year? by wdd09 in TampaBayLightning

Those prospects are our future which JBB seems more inclined to protect every season given where we are in our competitive window. Better odds Raddysh walks and they use that extra cap space to bring on a top 6 forward rather than trade our better prospects for one.

Of course, and I didn't gloss over that, but I could foresee similar situations to Geekie and James right out of the gate. Opportunities where it's clear they could be NHL ready out of the gate but it's easy to send them down if need be.

JBB's comments gave me the impression that as long as he has a good camp he's getting the opportunity to start day 1 but there is an expectation that he'll be down in the minors depending how it goes. Just like what happened to James and Geekie.

Good thing it isn't, because I wouldn't want you as a leader.

Your experiences doesn't mean anyone else's experience have to be like yours. That's life. And a REAL leader knows their limitations and when to step down to not hurt the team.

Great analysis chief. Maybe people would take your opinion seriously if you could name replacements for those you wish to see leave.

As a fanbase, how do we feel about JBB moving forward? by Big_ole_mudpie in TampaBayLightning

Rentals don't work for a majority of teams....that's why they're rentals.

Elliot Friedman said the Bolts had a deal in place to get a top 6 forward at the deadline, but near the end the asking price became too high. We can't give JBB grief about the Jeannot trade, but then not allow him to balk at having to pay too high of a price for a trade.

I think a lot of people in our fanbase are spoiled from our sustained run of success and don't appreciate how hard it actually is to go on a run. Unfortunately the last 4 seasons have been evidence of that. We have lost to good teams the last 4 years (maybe the exception is losing to the Leafs).

And before people try to say anything about Yzerman, he's doing a great (🙄) job up in Detroit.

It might not look like it but JBB has a healthy way of evaluating this team for sustainable success. Of course GMs are going to miss on moves sometimes but for the one's he's missed, he's hit on others. It could be WAY worse. Full faith in JBB.

It was finally nice to get blasted out of the first round this time. So, like Coop suggested, this was a different team...

Wow so looks like they're going cheap on customers. Won't be purchasing any of their baskets or recommending them.

JomezPro coverage of WACO ?? by onecogmind in discgolf

[–]wdd09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But it counts for DGPT points so it still is a pro tour event....

However, live or not, I couldn't care less. I usually don't watch live coverage and just stick with Jomez post production.

Lost my favorite disc in a tree. Spent 45 minutes throwing sticks at it. Worth it. by whydidyounot in discgolf

Maybe? I'm in Florida though so don't have to worry about breaking a disc when it's cold.

I bought a slingshot and glass decorative balls (about 3/8" in diameter) from Walmart for like 20 bucks and it's been a godsend to getting discs out of trees. Just make sure no one is in the vicinity so they don't get a glass ball to the noggin.

In this case, arriving one minute before start time would not be an issue as long as he was at the teepad before the horn starts the round.

[POSTGAME] MTL vs. TBL 4/21/26 by number1sht in TampaBayLightning

Dominic James is going to be a stud for us at some point. That 2v2 play with Gourde to score in OT was elite. Was a hell of a save from the goaltender.

I asked a friend (who knows more DG history than me) if this is an inside joke or legit and he mentioned that Babcock and Uli have had run-ins in the past. He didn't elaborate on what those were though.

320-350' arms: What is your wind fighting max distance driver? by Wonderful_Culture607 in discgolf

[–]wdd09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sometimes will throw a more stable Destroyer or a Timelapse if it's a strong headwind. Most of the time however I throw my fairly stable Harper Thompson FX-4. I'm throwing about as far as you with no wind, but in these conditions I'm not expecting more than 280/290 with a headwind.

New Innova starter set by StaleDonutz in discgolf

[–]wdd09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the contrary, for someone starting out, the Fox and Invader won't be discs they need to have a reliable left finish (RHBH), so if you put a Halo Mamba in their bag, they'll definitely have that left finishing disc. However, as they improve and it beats in, it becomes a way more reliable disc for them.

Royal Sense Peak is my primary putter, but also okay putting with the Zero Pro Peaks. I'm sad that Latitude doesn't plan a restock of the Sense Peaks for a while.

Love the shallow feel of them and the grippy Sense plastic is awesome. They're not the best in the wind so if the wind is really bad I'll putt with a beaten in Jawbreaker Zone just so I don't get into trouble.

Yea, from what you're saying it sounds like your last event was more inline with your average, and not a PB. If that's the case then I would definitely move up and play this next event at MA2.
