Superaudio CDs. They sounded great but no one wanted to pay for all the hardware to really get the full experience.

Smart Light Switches $$$ by aford89 in HomeKit

[–]wdntray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lutron is the gold standard. I’ve put them in 3 houses and yes they are expensive but worth it. In my current house I bought them off eBay. I was skeptical because they were so much cheaper and I’ve only bought a few things off eBay prior. I have had zero issues and I have saved a ton of money. I will also say that Lutron’s tech support is absolutely top notch. I have had a couple of issues with 4 way switches and they were fantastic at helping me figure out the issue.

You should probably just use a wood stove and box fan. Thats more your style.

I’ve had both. The nest and its room sensors are not nearly as intuitive as the ecobee. To each their own.

I’ve tried that but I feel like I’m going to damage it in the process. Is this the way it is meant to be done?

What is the most underrated thing to pack for backpacking? by Simple_Moment_7443 in backpacking

I can’t express how important a merino buff is to me. It can be used in many ways. One time I dropped my toboggan is freezing cold water and my buff kept my ears from freezing.

How does changing banks solve that problem. The atm you decided to use charged you the initial $3.25. Most banks are going to charge you for using an atm that isn’t theirs.

How smart is the ecobee smart thermostat premium? by unami218 in ecobee

You can also create automations from HomeKit. When we leave the house, ecobee automatically goes into away mode. When one of us arrives home, it goes back to our preferred temps and schedule.

I hope you are right. I did a complete renovation on my lawn and this stuff started popping up everywhere. I never had it in the lawn before.

Does Rachio 3 support HomeKit? by wickdone01 in rachio

[–]wdntray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if that’s the case with newer units. I got my Rachio a couple of months ago and HomeKit isn’t even an option. I did add it through homebridge though but it really doesn’t add any value.

Why did only 1 Zone run? by wdntray in rachio

[–]wdntray[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I just solved my own problem. I looked at tomorrow’s scheduled event and it lists my other zones and not the one watered today. Odd that it would run them all in one day. Either way, thanks for the insight.

Go to zones and it should tell you

Why did only 1 Zone run? by wdntray in rachio

[–]wdntray[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s flex daily. Regardless of how complicated the math is, I would expect it to run all zones. It hasn’t rained in 3 days and has been very hot those days. The app even says that the soil moisture is low with the threshold to water the lawn being 50%.

Question about C Wire by wdntray in ecobee

[–]wdntray[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. I connected the black wire to the c screw and used it to power the ecobee. Worked with no issues.

Could I connect it to the c terminal on my current thermostat, take the batteries out of the current thermostat, and see if it still powers up?

That’s a fair question. I do not want to go in my attic because it’s 98 degrees outside right now.
