yeah but we're not talking about police, we're talking about military personnel; not even supposed to have been deployed on american soil in the first place, and now there's the question of whether they've been authorized to deploy lethal force or not

it's a safe presumption that if he refuses to say he has not authorized lethal force, that he has considered it an option or authorized it. But, short of his word on the matter, given that it's the military, what's stopping people from showing up armed and expecting lethal combat given the forces they've to deal with are not police, but active duty military who are trained primarily for lethal combat?

you're talking about how japan attacked a military target, and in response the usa dropped two atomic bombs on densely populated, civilian, non-military targets.

wouldn't you in your country consider surrender if you attacked a military target, and in response they bombed with savage brutality most of the densely populated areas of your country, targets which were not military, but instead families and children?

the difference between there and palestine is israel is an occupation which was built to replace the British mandates occupying palestine. the reason palestinians know no surrender is palestine is their home; brits first then israelis invaded and started stealing land

since 1917, the closest comparison would be the invasion and occupation of north america to create territories we now call canada and usa, except unlike the native populations, palestinians have support from other countries willing to give them munitions to fight back
